Not Very Good
wandernn1-81-68327428 December 2020
I wasn't impressed. The acting was .....alright. But the story was lame. Not interesting at all and quite predictable.

And it was incredibly short. Why? Obviously because it just lacked content. I don't see why all the high ratings for this are here. It certainly doesn't make sense to me.

Lowcountry SC!!
debbieperry-3669231 October 2021
The only thing that made me keep watching this movie is that it was filmed in the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina where I live. I only knew about it because of the magical voice of Savannah Grace And I knew her music would be featured in the movie. The music did not disappoint! And was glad to hear the main character call her name. Nice plot twist at the end but not well acted.

A bit disturbing
jablonski-2931114 July 2020
First off, it's more of a thriller than a horror. The horror elements are effective but comes in bits and pieces. Not predictable. The actress is solid. Visually stunning. A little slow ramp up but gains steam and ends with a bang. I'll say that some parts were a little disturbing, but the story is different so it was worth the three bucks to rent on Amazon.

Well Done Indie Shocker
mbevluv2 July 2020
This nasty little thriller will keep you guessing from beginning to end. The main character, Polly, goes through personal tragedy and heartbreak only to be confounded with unusual apparitions, and the enveloping sense that forces beyond her control are out to destroy her. Jessica Bell gives an amazing performance as Polly and ensures the audience is sympathetic towards her dilemma every step of the way. The story has many twists and surprises with a real humdinger of an ending! Nice directorial touches and terrific music only adds to the ambience of what is happening on screen. Highly recommended.

Well, that was odd.

This is a thriller with an underlying mystery and some horror elements. I really liked it because the lead actress made an insane world seem real. The story was so unusual and it took me on the main characters journey, I wanted to know how she was going to figure everything out. I thought the musical score was excellent. I don't want to spoil, but I'll say that the secondary character was electrifying. Nice to click on a film I've never heard of and be pleasantly surprised. This is one that if they made a sequel I would actually watch it.

FUN, ODD, COOL ENDING
ohohcoat29 January 2021
ACTING is a 9, the woman playing the lead is believable, her "friend" at the end gives a solid performance as well. I'd give the acting a 10 but there was a less than great performance by the husband in the beginning, kinda bland. STORY is a 8, it kept me watching all the way to the end which is rare for me, I turn off a lot of these indie movies at under 20 minutes and the end to this one was worth the wait. SCORE is a 6, it was fine but nothing special. CINEMATOGRAPHY is a 9, actually this is a strength of this movie, it looks good. SPECIAL EFFECTS is a 7, I mean, some was eye-popping and some just passable. DURATION, it's pretty short, I don't mind that. I have to say, it was different! I call this a popcorn-movie because it's a fun way to spend a Wednesday night when you're looking for something unusual.

A Bit Hard to Catergorize, And Very Slow Moving.
betchaareoffendedeasily24 December 2020
Although you could call this a thriller, it is very slow, and it is NOT horror, it is more of a drama/thriller/mystery, and it is very heavy on the drama. I won't talk about the plot as there are some decent twist and I do not want to ruin them. I don't mind slow movies, some people do, so I recommend not watching this if you hate slow movies it might put you to sleep, almost nothing seemingly happens in the first half, although that certainly isn't true, it is just that these things are very slight, blink and miss them kind of things, I recommend paying close attention.

The plot itself is not necessarily anything new, but I did find the execution well-done overall, and I was a little bit surprised by a few things at least, it was not 100% predictable, that is saying something. Usually when a film moves this slow, I can guess it's every move far in advance. The movie is well done on a technical level, the cinematography is beautiful, the sound is very well mixed, the music is nice and well-fitting for the most part, the script is decent enough, if not amazing, it is slightly above average, and the acting from the lead is, on the whole really good, and it has to be because she carries nearly the entire film all by herself.

Things move along at a very slow pace until the halfway mark, you are waiting and waiting to see where to plot takes you, as the synopsis of the plot tells you the first half of the film, nothing really happens, other than a few bits here and there that become highly significant later, as mentioned pay attention. I enjoyed the second half a good bit, but one thing I would have loved to have seen more of was her relationship with her friend, and co-instructor of martial arts, Sabrina. I felt that was a relationship that should have had more time spent developing, but it does not ruin the movie, it just may have made it slightly stronger.

With that said, I felt it might have been better with a little less time spent with the main character Polly alone in her house. I appreciate many of these scenes, I felt they showed a truly authentic, and non-melodramatic picture of grief. She isn't picture perfect, she looks weathered, tired, and like she has cried her eyes out. This is something most films about grief miss, the ugliness of it, when you are in heavy grief, you don't care what you look like. This, for me, is the films strongest suit. I loved that she is a martial artist, and that does come up in the movie a few times.

I do think this is a good low-budget film, but it could have been a great one had it upped it's thrills a little more, and turned the first 34 minutes into the first 20 minutes and took those are 14 minutes developing more of the relationships around her and focusing more on thrills and mystery.

Not what I expected
riccollins-154018 May 2022
The poster makes it seem like an 80's Horror film. It has some of that, but it's more of a mystery/thriller. I liked the A. I. element. I'm giving it a high grade because none of the movie was predictable and I hate predictable. It kept me guessing until the end which was the best part of the movie. It starts a little slow but builds the whole way. It's was a fun watch.
