I was waiting for this film since the first trailer and I was dissapointed in the end. Based on the teailers I expected something awesome, but now it just feels like a wasted opportunity and money due to poor writing and directing.
I have to say, all of the actors were awesome.
The gaunt house scene was a bit weird. It was very accurate to the books, which made it enjoyable. The scene where Ogden enters the cottage and sees Merope for the first time is a bit weird. You put such dramatic effect on Merope for sooo looong, but you had Ogden in the scene too, as if they had some meaningful past or connection together, it totally gave the wrong impression if you didn't read the books.
Also the tention was not built up well in that scene. One minute they are having a nice conversation, and the next he starts choking his daughter. It seemed like you wanted to portray the Gaunts a bit more elegant than they were (and that is a good idea), but you wanted to keep the scene accurate to the books, and it was a bit confusing in the end.
The fight scene with the Gaunts was a bit much for me, but the effects were great.
The whole party scene would have been very good if you wouldn't have included Hepzibah. It murdered your film in the eyes of the fans.
That was the point where you could have added something new to the story instead of poorly modifing a totally different original scene.
It could have been a simple party for the deatheaters at some pureblood manor where they are ambushed by the aurors, or anything really.
I understand you wanted to include the horcruxes but I highly doubt he created them in the middle of a party with his deatheaters watching... so out of character.
The actor for Voldemort was the best I have ever seen in any movie, fanmade or original, but WHY did you hide ALL of this face for so long???? I thought it might be because he was only pretty but couldn't act, but no, he was actually acting very good. So I just can't understand, why you had to hide him. He could have had a half-mask on, or could have taken it off for the conversation at least...
His fight with the aurors was so awesome, the best scene in the whole film. The special effects were amazing, the whole scene was very well choreographed.
I love how you put Ogden in the scene and how he recognised the necklace, this is exactly how you add more to the story. Very well done!
The Potter scene in the end however was unneccesary and rushed.
All in all it was good to watch one time, but it could have been so much better.
