The lengthy wait for All American Season 6 is almost over, but a shocking piece of casting news has dropped just days ahead of the premiere.
TVLine reports that Hunter Clowdus is officially out of the show after five seasons playing JJ Parker.
The official confirmation comes months after the actor hinted his time on the show was over in response to a fan on Instagram.
During the extended hiatus, fans wondered if Clowdus was leaving The CW football drama.
In response to a fan questioning his departure, the actor said that he didn’t want to walk away from the show.
“I wanted to give the fans that character proper closure,” he dished, adding that he “began to feel very unwelcome there and it was really taking a toll” on his mental health.

The anticipation for Superman & Lois Season 4 is high, especially after a heart-pounding cliffhanger that saw the Man of Steel and Doomsday butt heads.
Superman & Lois Season 3 has had its fair share of ups and downs. Aside from the usual family troubles over the Kent family, Lex Luthor's return and Doomsday's unexpected arrival spelled doom for Tyler Hoechlin's titular DC hero.

The CW might not have that much in terms of returning scripted programming for the coming season, but it has ordered two new series. The network has ordered the original scripted series Wild Card and Sight Unseen, both with CW favorites and both set to air in 2024. The former, a crime-solving procedural, stars Riverdale‘s Vanessa Morgan and Reign‘s Giacomo Gianniotti, while the latter’s cast includes The Vampire Diaries and The Originals‘ Daniel Gillies and The 100‘s Jarod Joseph. “Wild Cards and Sight Unseen are two unique, binge-worthy shows that reflect The CW’s commitment to compelling, top-tier storytelling that will appeal to our loyal fans and attract a wide range of new viewers,” said Liz Wise Lyall, Head of Scripted Programming, The CW, in a statement. “We are thrilled to collaborate with our partners at Blink49 Studios, Front Street Pictures, Piller/...

Phyllis Coates, the first actress to play Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane on television, only to leave the Adventures of Superman after just one season, has died. She was 96.
Coates, who also appeared in Republic Pictures serials and in such films as I Was a Teenage Frankenstein, died Wednesday of natural causes at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, her daughter Laura Press told The Hollywood Reporter.
A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, Coates first portrayed the headstrong Lois opposite George Reeves as the Man of Steel in the dark sci-fi movie Superman and the Mole Men (1951).
The success of that Lippert Pictures film — the first full-length theatrical feature starring the comic-book hero — led to the quick decision to start production on a syndicated show for television.

‘My Adventures With Superman’ Episode 1 Recap & Ending, Explained: Did Lois Find Out Clark’s Secret?
Right from the day of his first appearance, the Man of Steel has soared the highest in the animated adaptations of his adventures, which was pretty evident even from the earliest entries like the 1940s Fleischer Superman Cartoons, a collection of short films with animation way ahead of its time. During the tail end of the last millennium, the classic Superman: The Animated Series was released as a part of the Timmverse, which reinstated Superman’s relevancy for a new generation. In recent years, the silver screen ventures of Superman, veering toward a cynical, deconstructionist approach, have contributed to a lapse in the popularity of the character. This was somewhat countered by CW’s Superman & Lois, and now DC/Adult Swim has released the animated series My Adventures With Superman, aiming at a similar purpose: reinventing Superman for the modern generation while retaining all his core characteristics. The pilot episode...

All good things come to an end, and so has the third season of the CW’s Superman & Lois. After taking the viewers through an adeptly written, emotional roller-coaster of a season that primarily dealt with cancer awareness and the prospect of human mortality, the finale of the third season ended in a massive cliffhanger that saw Superman and Bizarro Doomsday going at each other’s throats on the surface of the moon. Lex Luthor made his presence felt in the last two episodes of the season, and in the fourth one, which has already been confirmed, Man of Steel’s arch-enemy will have more of a substantial role to play. With the possibility of one of the most important comics being adapted in the aftermath of the third season, let’s take a look at all the hinted plot points that can be explored next year in Superman & Lois.

If Simone Hicks did choose Damon Sims at the end of All American: Homecoming‘s second season, she won’t be seeing much of her new boyfriend in Season 3.

Smith will likely recur in Season 3, a rep for Warner Bros. TV tells us, while Kelly Jenrette — who plays Bringston University prez Amara Patterson — is confirmed to recur.

Monday again? How does this keep happening? If you’re a fan of “Yellowstone” and its various spinoffs, you had a good, or at the very least informative week last week. The show’s co-creator Taylor Sheridan said in an interview that the show will return for the final episodes of Season 5 at some point, and that the conclusion might be longer than the six episodes originally promised.
“Ted Lasso” fans also got positive news last week, though admittedly a bit more ambiguous. Series star and co-creator Brendan Hunt indicated that more seasons of the show or new spinoffs are possible in some form, but that everyone who worked on it needed to take a break and come back to see what potential really exists for more.
Until those shows make their way back to airwaves and streaming platforms, however, there is a fantastic lineup of new shows and movies coming to streaming this week!

The CW has released its schedule for 2023-24 — its first since local TV giant Nexstar took controlling ownership of the network — and as expected, it’s light on homegrown shows and features a number of series that began their lives elsewhere.
All American will lead off the week (pending resolution of the writers strike) in its familiar Monday spot, and unscripted staples Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Masters of Illusion and World’s Funniest Animals will remain on Fridays and Saturdays. The rest of the week, however, will be filled by acquisitions that cost less than homegrown original shows, part of Nexstar’s drive to make The CW profitable by 2025. (Under previous owners Warner Bros. and CBS, it never was, nor was it really designed to be.)

If there is anything close to the emotionally agonizing ordeal of being a patient of a terminal illness like cancer, it has to be having someone close to you suffer from the said disease. In its third season, Superman & Lois doesn’t let the viewers catch a break as the Kent family continues to struggle with Lois’ situation of being diagnosed with cancer, which tests the Man of Steel’s mental resolve as well. In the previous episode, we saw Bruno Mannheim let the villain Deadline lose in the Dod, who, although captured after a brief scuffle with Superman, allowed the breach of confidential information that let Bruno access the corpse of Bizarro. Lois also started her treatment procedure at Hob’s Bay Medical Facility, funded by Bruno, to keep a close watch on the kingpin’s schemes relating to cancer-afflicted metahumans.

The BBC has been told that it must be more transparent about its content acquisitions strategy after being accused by ITV of buying glossy U.S. shows to chase ratings.
Ofcom, the UK’s media regulator, said the BBC must explain in its Annual Plan how buying content, as opposed to commissioning British originals, supports “distinctiveness” and engages different audiences.
The BBC is funded by the British public to the tune of £3.8B ($4.7B), meaning it has an obligation to be distinct from commercial rivals like ITV and serve all audiences.
Ofcom made the intervention as part of plans to update the BBC’s operating licence for a digital age from next month. A guiding principle of the changes is transparency, with Ofcom arguing that the BBC has not always provided proper “detail and clarity” on updates to its output and services.

Superman & Lois Season 3 Episode 2
The latest episode of Superman & Lois, “Uncontrollable Forces,” is perhaps the most emotional of the entire series. It’s a drastic shift from the relatively lighthearted season premiere, as the mystery of what’s going on with Lois Lane is revealed in dramatic fashion: she’s not pregnant, and she’s not suffering from some fictional alien illness, but the all-too-real menace of breast cancer. The decision to undertake this storyline wasn’t one taken lightly by the cast or crew.
“We just felt like it’s such an important thing to discuss,” Superman & Lois co-showrunner Brent Fletcher tells me. “Lois Lane is such an iconic character, we feel like now that the audience knows this family, we can show the audience what this journey is really like. We built everything in service to that story…And very intentionally,...

Many have played iconic DC super-villain Lex Luthor over the decades, and the latest actor to join the pantheon of Luthor’s is none other than Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead). It was announced earlier this year that Cudlitz had joined the cast of Superman & Lois for its third season, and now Entertainment Weekly has the first look at the actor in all his bald glory.
According to the official character description, the Superman & Lois version of Lex Luthor is “known to the world as the visionary billionaire behind LexCorp. But the criminal underworld knows who Lex truly is: a brutal psychopath who terrorizes anyone he crosses paths with. It’s been years since he dropped out of the public eye and he’s re-emerging hellbent on correcting a personal injustice by enacting revenge on the two people he feels have wronged him — Superman and Lois Lane.“

Superman & Lois Season 3 Episode 1
At a time when the movie and TV DC Universe is rapidly evolving, it’s refreshing to find that Superman & Lois is, right out of the gate, as good in its season three premiere as it was all through its freshman and sophomore years. And that first episode, “Closer,” picks up just a few short weeks after the spectacular season two finale, just in time for Jonathan and Jordan Kent to celebrate their 16th birthdays, and for new threats to begin rearing their heads, including a resurgent (and suddenly superpowered) Atom-Man, the mysterious and deadly Onomatopoiea, and a character with deep ties to one of the greatest creators in comics history: Jack Kirby.

It’s up, up, and away for Season 3 of The CW’s cinematic family drama Superman & Lois, which returns with comic book couple Clark Kent and Lois friskier than ever, even as they juggle, well, family dramas. “It’s a dense season this year,” says Todd Helbing, who co-showruns with Brent Fletcher. “We came in with a pretty clearheaded view of what we wanted to do, and with 13 episodes, we’ve gotta get moving and kind of start setting the table.” Fletcher adds that “everybody’s got a big arc. …There’s no character left behind this season.” And they aren’t kidding. Mark Pedowitz has signed with CAA for representation in all areas.
The former president and CEO of The CW is returning to the producing game following his more than a decade run atop the younger-skewing broadcast network. CAA will rep the former executive and his Pine Street Entertainment production company.
Until last October, Pedowitz was broadcast’s longest-tenured network chief. The respected executive had called The CW home since 2011, when he was hired to expand the former WB Network’s reach and transform the fifth broadcast net from its female-skewing predecessor. During his run, Pedowitz and Greg Berlanti ushered in the era of the Arrow-verse, a multiple-show world of shows based on DC Comics characters that also included The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Superman & Lois and more.

This Teen Wolf: The Movie review contains no spoilers.
Riddle me this: Is a Teen Wolf still a Teen Wolf when he becomes a full-grown “Man Wolf”?
That’s essentially the premise of Teen Wolf‘s comeback movie which brings Tyler Posey’s Scott McCall back on our screens for the first time since 2017.
Now in his mid-thirties, our not-so-Teen Wolf is still the Alpha, but Beacon Hills is no longer the place it once was. Fifteen years or so have passed since everyone last walked off together dramatically on the long-running MTV series. Jumping ahead to 2026, Scott’s pack has now been scattered by the years and circumstance — as well as real-life issues offscreen too.
That’s right. A lot of your faves are back, including some faces you might not be expecting, but there are a couple of key players missing, and the film does suffer a bit for it.

The Walking Dead‘s Michael Cudlitz is going from the wastelands of a zombie apocalypse to the highrises of Metropolis when he joins the cast of Superman & Lois for the show’s third season. According to Entertainment Weekly, Cudlitz is playing a new version of the supervillain genius known to hold the DC Universe in a vice-like grip tighter than Superman’s most aggressive handshake.
Per the EW’s official description, “Cudlitz’s Lex Luthor is known to the world as the visionary billionaire behind LexCorp, but secretly, the criminal underworld knows who Lex truly is: a brutal psychopath who terrorizes anyone he crosses paths with. When Lex debuts this season, it’s been years since he dropped out of the public eye, and he’s re-emerging hellbent on correcting a personal injustice by enacting revenge on the two people he feels have wronged him — Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane...

Some might say that Elizabeth Tulloch is crafting the definitive live action Lois Lane on Superman & Lois. Encompassing everything from Lois’ inherent strength, her journalistic talents, to her ushakeable moral compass, she’s also taking the character places no other actor has had a chance to explore in detail. And while Superman & Lois took its heroes out of their Metropolitan comfort zones since the very first episode, the show has continued to add new layers to them, with Lois in particular getting plenty of room to explore during the show’s second season.
“I think the main changes for Lois in season two anyway, is that she was really having to take a step back from a lot of the journalism stuff,” Tulloch tells us of the evolution of her take on Lois Lane. “There was quite an emphasis on her needing to protect...

Nexstar Media Group revealed Monday it is set acquire a 75 majority stake in the CW Network from Paramount Global and Warner Bros. Discovery, more than six months after first beginning negotiations for the deal.
Warner Bros. Discovery (formed through the recent merger of WarnerMedia with Discovery) and Paramount (rebranded from ViacomCBS earlier this year) have co-owned the network since early 2006, when the WB and Upn were merged after nearly a dozen years on the air into a single entity, so named for the “C” in CBS and “W” in Warner Bros. Both Paramount and Wbd will each retain a 12.5 ownership in the CW and continue to produce content for the broadcaster upon close of the sale, which Nexstar expects will happen during the current third quarter.

Another DC Comics property has gotten the axe at HBO Max.
Strange Adventures, an anthology series from executive producer Greg Berlanti that was to feature some lesser-known characters from the DC universe, isn’t moving forward at the streamer, HBO Max confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. Filmmaker Kevin Smith, who was set to direct and co-write an episode of the series, said on his Hollywood Babble-On podcast that the show was dead.
Smith discussed Strange Adventures’ fate in the context of Warner Bros. Discovery’s decision to kill its Batgirl movie, which the company said “reflects our leadership’s strategic shift as it relates to the DC universe and HBO Max.” CEO David Zaslav suggested during Wbd’s quarterly earnings call last week that the 90 million film wasn’t big enough to release theatrically but was too expensive to release directly to straming.
