How interesting that the center of the show is a guy who teaches acting; then, two monster actors, Douglas and Arkin, show their stuff. There's not much to say. The writing is wonderful. There is a subdued nature to the interactions between the two guys. Yet they exist in a crazy world that has forgotten what it is to connect. The funeral scene here is priceless. It could have been tasteless if not done well. It was done well.

A good drama, comedy series so far

Greetings from Lithuania.
I liked first two episodes of "The Kominsky Method" so far. The reasons that i picked up watching this show were that it won 2 Golden Globes and it stars two great actors - one of my all time favorite Michael Douglas and a great Alan Arkin as well that its main creators is Chuck Lorre.
After watching two episodes i can safely say that this show isn't laugh fest, actually its more of a drama then a comedy, but its a drama that made me smile for two episodes - entirely. It has a good mood, great acting and everything about it just feels good. I will definitely keep watching it. Good series so far.

Warning: Spoilers
It is hard for a show to be almost entirely dependent on a funeral and still give us a funny episode, but that is what we got here.
Giving us the full Jay Leno eulogy was kind of surprising too. Netflix has a great comedy on their hands with this one.

Genuinely heartfelt funeral episode but too sappy at times, and Jay Leno, one of many contrived star-cameos that turn up now and again, isn't funny at all...
This is about Arkin's acting and it's good, as usual... with a good little "twist" of sorts leading to one of the main co-leads throughout the rest of the series...
