Heda vs Bloodreina

Abby is in withdrawal. Clarke continues to try and keep Madi safe. Octavia faces impossible choices.

It was really interesting to see how Octavia deals with the traitors, though I kind of saw it coming. Marie Avgeropolous continues to impress me with her acting. This season, she really blows me away every time she is on screen. I'd love to see more of that. The outcome of that situation was rather obvious too though, unfortunately. I had hoped for something more gut-wrenching. While I am mostly on Clarkes side in this situation, she did something in the beginning of the episode that felt out of character, rather reckless and dare I say stupid. The actress of Madi also does a solid job, and her story just gets more and more interesting as well. And I also do really admire Indra for her loyalty. And her courage. Her scenes were pretty good.

Overall, this was a good episode, but unfortunately not the best one yet. I am definitely looking forward to the last three episodes of this season, since the showrunner Jason Rothenberg said himself, episodes 11, 12 and 13 were his Top 3 favorite of this season. So I am expecting great things. After this season overall, I am positive the finaly will be amazing as well.

Spoiler alert

Warning: Spoilers
While the storytelling in this show is exceptional , I will NEVER understand is how Abby doesn't hide her fri'n pills seriously no addict is going to leave their bottle to be snatched left and right or held over their head. It is the most implausible thing about this entire season. She would have been tucking them away or even replaced them something else by now so as not to be so controlled , it's so irritating.

Spotlight on Octavia.

Clarke attempt to save Madi, becoming over-protective. She is annoying I have to say. She was once my favorite character.

Meanwhile, Octavia fighting with herself while people around her try to save her from herself. This plot is intense and mad and psychotic. I really enjoy this one. It is really interesting to see Octavia came this far. And who she will choose to be.

Insanely Intense
scottkursch11 May 2019
Man. I just can't remember a TV Series being this intense. This episode is good, really good. The reviewer saying Abby and Octavia are dragging the entire show down must be watching a different program, living in an alternate universe, on some potent substance, or being emotionally distorted by the heavy content conveyed by those actors. As someone who has physically experienced opiate WD's, Abby's depiction was actually TOO realistic and riveting for me.

I just grow so weary of the "the storylines COULD have been so good" or "it had SO much potential" criticisms. I get it if you just don't like something or it's not your cup of tea, but if 90% of viewership is not ready to "clean house", how pretentious is it to think your conclusions are sufficient enough to make major production staff changes ? I propose that maybe YOUR house be cleaned and examine what internal issues are causing your negative viewpoints, while we stick with the satisfied 90%.

If all these arm-chair screen writing experts could show me their portfolios so I can see what a REAL masterpiece looks like, I would greatly appreciate it. It's important to distinguish the difference between "bad, sloppy writing" and just a storyline or character arc that doesn't happen to be YOUR personal preferred direction or choice. "Time to clean house".... Yeah I'm sure the producers will get right on that for ya. Peace.

This season is crazy, a lot is going on and I will have to rewatch this episode because it's a lot going on. Octavia is just mad but I love her for that, I really want the old Octavia back.

The Warrior's Will

Warning: Spoilers
Clarke's character is evil and worthless. She's the lead of the show, jeez. Maddie is now a greater character, Octavia has to die, while Bellamy, Gaia and Indra fight in the arena?!

Octavia

I like Octavia more than clarke and bellamy And i am really tired to see clarke play the role of mother of that kid. She always believes she is doing the best while she is always doing the worst.

Octavia changed so much
Neptune1657 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Well I don't want either Bellamy or Indra to die. I do feel a bit sorry for Octavia. That last scene scene was sad. Both her brother and her mentor, the closest thing to a mother she has known betrayed her. However it is not hard to see why they did what they did. Octavia has changed so much. I used to like her because the things she did, she did to try and stop as many people she could from having to die. She was never as comfortable with sending people to die for her. This season however, she is less about protecting people than not wanting to lose. There's a look of mania in her eyes that was never there before. Shes become more dictator than leader. Its sad to see both Octavia and Bellamy at odds when their relationship has always been a high point of the show. One of my favourite things about the 100 has always been the friendship and partnership between Clarke and Bellamy. Yea yea I want them together romantically but I have always enjoyed watching their partnership grow over the seasons. They have been through so much together and their partnership and its challenges has always been so great to watch. Even when they have been on opposite sides and you think there is no hope for them to reconcile, the bond they have finds a way. The actors have great chemistry this way. This season though they are so divided I'm not sure how they could make it back. 6 years has changed them both in so many ways that the bond they shared has become altered. I am interested to see how this season is going to end for those two. I honestly hate Clarke so much these past few episodes. She always against Bellamy, and every single time he came up with something that she is not agree with, she is mad at him. Bellamy never did the same thing to her. Even when he poisoned his own sister it was Clarke's idea. Did she think its not hard for him to do that? Okay, i get it. She can be mad at him if she is not agree with his idea, but all she did was run away NOT finding another way. I miss the old Clarke whose never going to give up to do everything to save all of her people. How can she just run away and not thinking about what will happen to the others? At least think about what will happen to his mom? To Bellamy and her other friends like raven murphy etc.? I remember in season 2, it took so long for her to forgiving herself after she did in mount weather. Now she is willing to risk all of her friends' life for Madi?

Ridiculous
lennieqiu26 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I love this serie, but after what happened in episode 9, I just can't wrap my head around why everybody just follow Octavia. They were all yelling no more blodreina when they heard about the farm. It's just ridiculous they are not turning their back against Octavia, after what she has done to it.

Season 5 or the tale of how everyone's got dumb
adamsosnowski9 July 2021
The award for the biggest idiot has to go to Octavia. For some inexplicable reasons she wants to fight. In order to do that she would even kill her brother, the most important person in her life. Half of the grounders were against her already and after Monty's hydrofarm miracle a mutyny started. So Octavia goes and destroys the farm. For no other reason than her wanting to fight. And what is the grounders' reaction? Oh cool, the farm sucked anyway, let's go to war. A 5-year-old would write a better story.

The whole story arc of season 5 could have been solved in one episode. Ascend Maddie as new commander, get rid of Octavia, wait for McGreery to die cause of his lung disease and then share the valley with the rest.

Speaking about the valley. It was so huge that it could be observed with the bare eye from space. And now 1200 people can't live there together? What a joke.

Abby, the rational doctor, is a drug addict now. Don't get me even started on that. And of course there was a 6 year supply of designer drugs in the bunker, why not? As we all know extasy is essential for survival. And of course the same drugs survived 100 (HUNDRED) years on a space ship run by criminals.

So what about Clarke? She is dumb as well. Why is it so bad for Maddie to be Commander? The grounders would follow her at once. There would be no war and they could share the valley, Monty could recultivate the turf and spread life.

Season 5 is by far the worst season of The 100. Octavia and Abby are annoying as freak. None of their actions make any sense. Noone would follow Octavia, every moves she makes is just so stupid.

Time to clean house.
sisdog22 July 2018
Such bad, sloppy writing. Some of the storylines of this season could be really good, but Octavia and Abbie are just dragging the entire show down. Time to clean house.
