A strong follow up.

Conrad is out of Prison, Emily is quite rightly in a state about his release, she hangs around him, he plays up to it, soon after a dead body is found.

This second episode was very good, the story is warming up nicely. I preferred this to the first.

I had predicted some sort of inevitability about this series, but so far it has diverged from my expectations, I was expecting Nick and Emily to get back together, let's wait and see.

Very well acted, good story, am getting into this, 8/10.

Good Cop, Bad Cop

Warning: Spoilers
In the second episode entitled "Reset," the focus is on Em's whirlwind ride from victim to suspect. An eyewitness comes forward to claim that she witnessed Em in a conversation with Semerov in the past two weeks. Semerov was found floating in the Charles River shortly after their alleged meeting. Em gets lawyered up because she is now a suspect.

Em doesn't help her cause by brutally assaulting a man she mistook for Semerov. Then, she surprises Harlow by his indoor pool, necessitating the intervention of the Boston police. Harlow does not press charges. But the steadfast Nick is devoted to solving the case of his ex-wife. Nick and his partner discover that the eyewitness Kelly Price is really Regina Talbot, who laundered money for Semerov. An internet search leads them to a florist named Jonathan Cooper, who is connected to Talbot.

Cooper is tracked down and opens fire on Nick and his partner. But when trapped in an apartment, Cooper squeals. There is a crooked member of the FBI who is part of Semerov group. It was at the exact moment when Em was on the trail of Semerov and suspected the infiltration of her office with corrupt FBI agent that she was held hostage for six years. Clearly, the dirty cop is now the first priority for Nick.

But just as the case seems to be getting some clarity, there is more confusion. There is an emergency police dispatch to the home of Conrad Harlow. He has been stabbed to death and is floating in his swimming pool!

The way Alice and Nick handled the person near the house was mind numbing.

Warning: Spoilers
The show is off to a compelling start, but the it's always refreshing when shows avoid having their characters do stupid things. This episode did not do that at all.

There's enough good things about it to make this easy to overlook, but give me a break. Dumb characters make shows impossible to enjoy.
