Surgeons at St Mary's in Paddington face a familiar dilemma. They have two patients requiring life-saving surgery who will both need a bed in ICU after surgery - but there is only one bed available.
Nearly all 297 beds at St Mary's in London are occupied, staff need to discharge patients to make way for new arrivals. A homeless Polish man and a 90-year-old woman are just two of those with nowhere to go.
