Last year, Warner Bros. treated us with the awesome Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, which saw the likes of Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar reprise their roles of Batman, Robin and Catwoman, respectively. Being essentially the beginning to a fourth season we never received, it surpassed expectations by retaining the feel of the classic 1960’s television series, while also featuring grandiose action scenes that could’ve never been accomplished on the budget of the show.
Not being content to rest on their laurels, the fine folks who put together DC’s wonderful animated movies continued the legacy with Batman vs. Two Face, a followup that may have very well been the brand’s best offering this year (you can check out our review here). But with West’s recent passing being an unfortunate reality, one would only assume that the book has been closed on the Bright Knight.

Out of the many mooted superhero movies that have failed to materialize over the years, none have reached the legendary status of Superman Lives. Intended to reboot the Man of Steel’s cinematic career in the 1990s, Batman director Tim Burton was attached to helm, with Nicolas Cage of all people signed up to star as a mullet-headed Superman.
The story of what it would have contained and why it never made it to screen has been told before in the documentary The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?, but we’ve still never got an actual feeling for what it would have been like and obviously never will. That almost wasn’t the case, however, as at one point, the project was nearly revived.
While talking to the press to promote Batman vs. Two-Face, screenwriter Michael Jelenic revealed that he pitched a Superman Lives animated movie to Warner Bros. back in the day.

When it comes to characters that we love, you’ll probably agree with me in saying that we all possess some vague memory of how we were exposed to them. As a lifelong fan of Batman, I can at least remember that Adam West was my introduction to the Dark Knight (or Bright Knight, in this case). Honestly, I can’t properly recall if it was via the TV show from the ’60s or the Super Friends animated series, but either way, he was my first Batman.
Having confessed that, you can imagine that I was quite thrilled when West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar reprised their roles of Batman, Robin and Catwoman, respectively, in last year’s Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. Not only did returning in animated form allow them to defy Father Time, but it also showed us what that world looks like when freed of...

The Batman vs. Two-Face animated movie nearly invited Poison Ivy to the special guest batvillain party.
Warner Bros. has been fulfilling longtime Batman fan dreams for the last year. After first reuniting Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar for Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders, they immediately revealed the news that they'd be bringing one of the greatest Batman villains to never appear on the original TV series to the screen, with this year's Batman vs. Two-Face. Not only that, they got the legendary William Shatner to voice the dual role of Harvey Dent and Two-Face.
There are a handful of iconic Batman villains of the era who never joined the ranks of Joker, Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin, or Mr. Freeze on TV. Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Poison Ivy were all around during the era of the Batman TV series, but never made the jump to live action as "special guest batvillains.

In 2016, Adam West and Burt Ward returned to their roles as Batman and Robin from the ‘60s Batman show for an animated film called Return Of The Caped Crusaders. That movie will soon be getting a sequel called Batman Vs. Two-Face, with fellow ‘60s TV star William Shatner providing the voice of Harvey Dent, and Warner Bros. has now released a trailer that features cameos from a whole bunch of other bad guys who actually did appear in the original show. Retro fun aside, Batman Vs. Two-Face is also notable for being Adam West’s final acting role, since he got one last chance to reprise his most iconic character before his death earlier this summer.
Batman Vs. Two-Face should be available on DVD later this year.

Adam West, for the last time, voices Batman in Batman Vs Two Face. Here's the trailer...
Last year's Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders animated movie, which saw Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar return to the roles of Batman, Robin, and Catwoman, was an absolute delight. So when the announcement came that the sequel would feature a villain who had never made it into the original TV series (Two-Face) and that he'd be played by another iconic 1960s TV actor (William Shatner), fans went wild.
Unfortunately, Adam West died earlier this year, but not before completing his voice work on Batman Vs. Two-Face, a new animated adventure that will pair him with Shatner as Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

The upcoming animated film Batman Vs. Two-Face brings us Adam West's final performance as Batman, and today we have a trailer for you to watch. This is the follow-up to last year’s Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and it co-stars William Shatner as Harvey Dent a.k.a. Two-Face, Burt Ward as Robin, and Julie Newmar as Catwoman.
The story follows former Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent as he goes on a crime spree based on the number '2'. Of course, all of his actions are decided by the flip of a defaced, two-headed silver dollar. Batman and Robin are the only ones who can stop him.
Batman Vs. Two-Face looks like a fun movie and it will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on October 17th. If you liked Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, you should also enjoy this one. I love that...
