A Unique Perspective, An Intimate Journey
amylalbertson2 July 2017
Mekonen: The Journey of An African Jew is an endearing, moving film following the story of young Mekonen from Israel to Ethiopia where he revisits the village he grew up in and makes peace with the loss of his father. The Ethiopian Jewish community is unknown to many and this film gives a look into the fascinating personal story of one of them, a story emblematic of the journey of many. I highly recommend this film to anyone interested in unique cultural stories, Israeli, Jewish, or Ethiopian culture, or really just anyone interested in something one of a kind.
