It's perfect casting for Jack Carson as a harried toy salesman in this Alcoa Theatre segment, a lively, family-friendly comedy with a heart.
He's out to sell robot toys for Christmas but it turns out that a cute little invention called the "Nothing Box" designed by orphans turns out to be all the craze for Xmas. His cute kid Flip Mark is representing the orphans, and not only is Carson outmatched for salesmanship by the preteens, but they set up an assembly line to manufacture the toys in his house, leaving no room for him to move around or even get any sleep.
It's very amusing, and both Carson and his evil, money-grubbing unethical capitalist swine of a boss John Dehner get to make faces and cross their eyes like nobody's business. The hard-working orphans are irresistible, and the Capra-esque feel of the good guys triumphing over the venal ones is just fine.
