Warning: Spoilers
King Shark was FREAKING AWESOME!!!!EVEN IN DAYLIGHT!!!!!!! It was a little slow-going exploring the aftermath of last ep, but everything about him and Flash made this ep worth slogging through the angst. Love all the Jaws reference, and if they blew the budget for that 30-second shot of King Shark before, then they must have mortgaged CW for the next 5 years + a loaner from CBS in exchange for lending them Flash for this ep's fight scene. I don't expect any CGI until the finale and then only the last 5 minutes. But King Shark is worth it!!!!!!

Wally said no lies about Barry. Except his shot about Barry's pictures all over the house. Poor Joe, he never thought he would need Sharknado insurance. But then, who does?! Barry's anguished/guilt-ridden "confession" was the perfect counter-balance to his distracted-condescending attitude.

Jesse wasn't as bad as I feared. She didn't disappear in the background nor was she overtly in the foreground. The little give-and-take between her and Harry was a relief, that they're not going to be the put-upon father and emo-daughter.

This was Caitlin's best arc. Maybe that's why the writers keep putting the screws to her: she has the strength to rise above each hardship. We start off with icy Caitlin a la the pilot, then sensible Caitlin as she quite rightly explains why she's "cold" now, and finally sweet Caitlin as she gently pulls Cisco's leg (which he deserved). As much as I enjoyed her icy attitude (that scene with the shark specialist!), I'm glad for the return of nice Caitlin who doesn't deserve to be condemned to be KF.

It was great to see Cisco be the one to take care of Caitlin, hearkening back to their long-friendship. But then he starts going at her with "you're going to turn into a murderous metahuman" over and over. Was he trying to push her into it so he'll know if he can become Reverb or something?!

A little more Flash/Diggle/Lyla interactions would have been nice.

Did I mention King Shark is FREAKING AWESOME? In EVERY SCENE! EVEN IN DAYLIGHT!!! And the only thing more awesome than him was his fight with Flash!!!

Score: 9.2 because King Shark/Flash fight

We're Gonna Need a Bigger Flash
ThomasDrufke23 February 2016
I will always the best Flash episodes are the ones that ground themselves with realistic and well-paced emotion. I love the episodes like a few weeks back when it was easter egg after huge action sequence after awesome superhero moment, but I also love the episodes that bring the show back to a real life story about a man who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, and that's where tonight's episode really thrived.

Diggle and Lyla made an appearance tonight for no real reason other than telling Barry King Shark is back and Dig giving Barry some necessary advice. Pretty much stuff he could have called him about but that's okay, I think we all love a good Diggle-speed freak out moment anyway. It turns out King Shark has been in ARGUS' possession all this time and has come back to finish the business Zoom set him out on months ago.

So as we all expected, this episode was clearly a tribute to the film Jaws, and the arc of the episode tied closely to the film and we even got some Flash altered Jaws quotes along the way. I was worried about the quality of the effects and to the extent at which they would use King Shark in regards to their budget restraints, but I thought it turned out pretty decent. Although it wasn't nearly as crisp as some of the Grodd effects, especially when you take into account the final action sequence which started out okay but then finished with too much slow motion and brutal CGI.

We got the confirmation that all of the breaches are closed for good, according to Wells, which shut down my fears of this episode feeling unnecessary when you have bigger problems at hand with Zoom. But I obviously expect them to come up with an idea to open breaches back up within the next 2 episodes or so, especially after hearing Barry's closing speech to the team. As far as Jesse and Harry go, I kind of expect them to end up staying on Earth-1 by season's end.

Barry and Wally got to spend some quality time together this week as Wally needed some help with his plans for a 'super-car' project. This seemed a bit overdue but I don't expect this to be the end of that conflict. Joe's speech to Wally was nice, but Barry and Wally didn't really have time to figure things out themselves, so I'll be interested to see where that goes in the coming weeks. The other mini arc this week was Cisco and Caitlin's. I was glad to see that they didn't drag out Caitlin not knowing about Killer Frost for several episodes as I do expect her to at some point to become Frost. Don't we all know you never say never, come on Caitlin.

I was also pleased to see that Barry's feelings about what happened in Earth-2 bleed over into this episode. He saw a lot of crazy stuff go down and plenty of things that normal people don't just get over on the spot, and it also gave this episode the emotional backbone that last week was missing. The idea that Barry feels guilt for leaving Earth- 2 at Zoom's mercy made sense to me. And it's something that a superhero wouldn't really let happen so that felt right. At the same time, the reveal of having Jay or Hunter Zolomon rather be Zoom for some reason didn't sit right. Jay has never been all that impressive on the show to begin with and so seeing the same actor play Zoom just felt off. I'm willing to give it a shot of course, but I just hope they clear us up on the whole identity thing soon.

So overall, the first installment in CW's mini crossover week was pretty good. With the King Kong and Jaws tribute episodes, I can only assume Godzilla will be the next one down the line at some point. After all, I'm pretty sure Cisco was wearing a Godzilla shirt. It's always nice seeing Diggle lay down some needed advice for our favorite heroes and freak out over Flash's speed. Caitlin had a big week but so did Barry as Grant Gustin's performance really stood out to me this week. Him and Stephen Amell really do an incredible job leading their respective shows. It's too bad we have to wait 3 weeks for another episode of The Flash, because it's starting to build momentum.

+Gustin

+Fun King Shark/Jaws moments

+Dig giving advice

+Caitlin's arc

-The Zoom reveal didn't hit the highs I hoped

-Some minor bad CGI moments

Cool épisode

Warning: Spoilers
King shark was really cool,it was very funny when he destroyed the roof of the west house. The work on the relationship of Wally and Barry was the central point of this episode for me. Cameo of Diggle and Leyla who is the new head of largus was cool. For one of the only time this season we've got to see Caitlin shine, the fact that she was cold a bit like killer frost was great.

King Shark is my favorite episode in Season 2
ivo-cobra811 March 2018
King Shark is my favorite Episode in Second Season in The Flash. After I just competed Season 3 I must say I love second season MILES way more than Season 3, the same way I love the first season. King Shark is an excellent episode written and directed in the second season. Special guests are David Ramsey and Audrey Marie Anderson from team Arrow. That is why this episode is terrific and excellent.

When King Shark escapes from an A.R.G.U.S. he travels to on a revenge mission to hunt down the man who captured him The Flash. I love how this episode shows CGI great effect showing half man half shark hunting down Barry. With the help from Lyla Michaels and John Diggle, Barry fights in the water with King Shark to capture him.

Mostly of the episodes did mention a lot of movies like In Season 3 The Terminator and Back to the Future this show mentions Jaws and uses similar tactic to capture the shark.

Grant Gustin was fantastic in this episode he acted brilliant as Barry Allen / The Flash. Fantastic acting from David Ramsey, Danielle Panabaker and Audrey Marie Anderson. The writers did an excellent job writing this episode. I love Caitlin's ark and John Diggle's advice to help Barry. I love how The Flash trapped and stopped King Shark in the water by hitting with his lightning. King Shark is my favorite Episode in The Flash Season 2. 10/10 I love this show to death. I recommend Season 1 and 2 to any fan of The Flash Tv Show.

Flash - S02E15 King Shark
j_forbesy24 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This episode took off straight from where we left off last week and did it in one of the best ways possible. It was a very emotional start as Team Flash come to terms with the death of Jay and how it is never possible to go back to Earth 2. They will obviously find a way to return or for Zoom to cross over because we know we can't be done with Zoom just yet. This episode really pulled back from the overall plot, a for good reason, the episode really shows how they are choosing to deal with the recent events.

I felt as though this was a very character driven episode, which I loved. Character driven episodes are always my favourite because it enables us to build a solid foundation of what characters the main plot is built from. The main theme of this episode seems to be conflict between characters. There were many exchanges that caused great moments. Cisco and Caitlin was great and Cisco revealed her Earth 2 identity. Caitlin's prank to Cisco late in the episode was a great laugh as well. I also really liked the exchanges between Barry and Wally. We really get to see how left out Wally feels and how he really thinks Barry took his place in the West family. My second favourite one was between Jessie and Wells though. It's the first time we really get to see the Wells family interact with each other and we got to see Earth 2 Harrison Well interact with someone on both an intellectual level and emotional level as he gets to reconnect with his daughter Jessie.

But by far however, my favourite exchange was between Barry, Joe and Iris. This was an extremely emotional scene as Barry reveals the events of Earth 2. Grant Gustin really acted this scene really well and managed to bring a lot of heart to this moment, allowing this scene to stand as an impactful moment in Barry, Joe and Iris's relationship. It was nice to see Diggle and Lyla cross over into this episode. Not only acting as ARGUS but as some characters in the shows that is in high spirits in comparison to the other members of Team Flash. Diggle was really great in this episode. He played a scenes of voice of reason to Barry as he similarly does to Oliver.

King Shark is a great villain and played a really menacing force throughout this episode. First we get to see him attacking ARGUS agents outside of his enclosures, then again at the docks in Central City. His attack on the West house was really unexpected but was a great way to show how powerful her really is. As usual, The Flash ended King Shark in a the usual Flash way and has put King Shark away for what we feel is a long time.

The references were really flying this episode and they were great. "I'm the fastest" from Wally, future Kid Flash, "Hello, Earth too Barry" from Joe, referring to Earth 2 and "Caitlin's been cold" from Cisco, a great reference to Killer Frost.

The ending of the episode was of course the stand out. We finally get to see who Zoom actually is, however there still remains 2 question. Zoom takes off his mask in the final moments of the episode, revealing that it is Jay Gerrick. However I am yet to be completely convinced that it is the Jay we think but is instead Earth 1 Jay, Hunter Zolomon or even a form of Jay, perhaps a negative speed force version of Jay. The second question still remain though, who is in the iron mask.

And Zoom is...
cobi-8062023 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Hunter frickin Zolomon! Or Jay Garrick, one of those two. It's not really confirmed as to what he calls himself other than Zoom. This week's episode was, as suggested by the title, about King Shark who's back to finish his job that is killing the Flash. Apparently he didn't die on those stairs after all.

Opening it up our heroes try to process the fact that "Jay" just died right in front of them. Poor Caitlin must suffer yet another loss of a lover. I really liked the narration Barry did as we saw the various characters try to move on with their lives. Sometimes the narrations aren't necessary but this one felt like it was needed. This episode was a little like episodes 1 and 7 where Barry had to find new motivation while dealing with a meta-human on the side.

We got our first scene with Barry and Wally talking to each other. Wally got to stop being so resentful towards people. Why ask Barry for help if you're not going to appreciate it? And Barry why can't you show more enthusiasm and some decency by looking at Wally while you're talking to him? Hopefully they'll get past this behavior this season. Perhaps when Wally gets his speed.

Caitlin and Cisco's scenes felt a little repetitive, like they were all so similar except for the last one. It was funny though when Caitlin pretended to be Earth-2 Caitlin, Cisco's sudden worry felt a bit odd. He already knew what Caitlin has been through, her Ronnie has died twice after all.

King Shark looked great throughout the episode, especially in the escape scene and the final confrontation in the water. Although it looked a little worse when he tore up the roof. His voice was different than in episode 4, a bit bubbly which was weird considering he was on land. Other than that, amazing that they were able to show him so much compared to the last time. I thought King Shark was more expensive than Grodd who we also got to see a lot of in his episode. Now I can tell that they really meant it when they said they were going to show bigger and better effects this season. It's certainly going to be interesting to see what they have in store for season 3 let alone the rest of the season.

This episode was also a crossover. Diggle and Lyla got to join in on the hunt for King Shark. It's always fun to see Digg's reactions to meta-humans. They didn't do much but it's nice to see evidence of their connected universe.

Zoom walks in carrying "Jay's" corpse and pulls off his mask and he is Hunter Zolomon or Jay Garrick from Earth-(?). I said that Henry Allen was a good candidate for being Zoom, Jay would be my second pick. While it's not as big a reveal as I had hoped for it sure isn't disappointing. There is still that mystery of who the Iron Mask Man is and how there are two or three Jay Garricks/Hunter Zolomons.

In conclusion, I liked King Shark and I thought the way Barry defeated him looked awesome. Zoom/Jay/Hunter was a nice reveal and now we just need an open breach to get the main plot moving again. All in all I really enjoyed this episode!

We're gonna need a bigger Flash!
neilpatel83023 February 2016
Boy, this episode was a fun roller coaster! King Shark! Diggle! Zoom! All the emotions! King Shark looked as great as ever, and they did him justice in this episode. I loved all of the Jaws references. Diggle and Lyla were welcome guests on this week's episode. I love how Diggle is still weirded out by Barry's super speed, and then Lyla gets weirded out, too, at the end. And, finally, ZOOM! Hunter Zolomon being Zoom was one of my three theories. Here is what I think. Zoom is Hunter Zolomon of Earth 2, the man in the iron mask is Jay Garrick/The Flash aka the long lost twin of Zolomon. The Jay we've been seeing mentoring Barry was Zoom at some points and Earth 1 Zolomon at other points (when Zoom needed to return to Earth 2. Shocking reveal!

Ranking/Reviewing every Flash episode: King Shark
lbramson11 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm this thrilling episode, King Shark terrorizes Central City, so Barry calls Diggle and Lylah for help. I love anything involving King Shark or Gorilla Grodd and this is no exception! This is a simple villain of the week plotline done right! It's thrilling from beginning to end and kept me on the edge of my seat! What I love most about this episode is the greatest reveal in the show's history: Zoom. Everyone and their mom saw the Reverse Flash identity reveal from a mile away. But no one knew that "Jay Garrrick" was Zoom. The twist was nothing short of brilliant. The writers used our prior comic book knowledge against us to mislead us and pull the wool over our eyes. This still doesn't feel like it came out of nowhere, because they set it up in Escape From Earth 2. A solid episode carried by the final reveal!

9/10-Great!
