An effecting war zone story
pauluswiggus23 March 2023
In an unnamed war zone (presumably Syria), a soldier abandons his weapon and uniform after an accidental shooting. He soon meets a women who is smuggling bread to a besieged village, while also scavenging mobile phones from the bodies of the dead soldiers. With more soldiers closing in, what will these characters do to survive.

This film tells a bleak story in a bleak landscape. The performances, cinematography and direction are all excellent, drawing the audience into the harsh world these characters inhabit by making it very, very real. There is no overt political agenda here, simply an expression of human connection in the context of war. An effecting story.
