First season good, rest is rubbish

Warning: Spoilers
Although I rate this episode 8/10 (I actually really liked all episodes of season 1), I would recommend people not to start watching this series. Season 1 is good, but after that it all falls to pieces, and when the last episode of season 3 ends, you'll be sorry you ever started watching. Again a network chose not to make an ending to the story, even though they surely must have seen it was going nowhere fast. They should at least have give the viewers a closure to the series

First Blood

The first episode of Zoo poses an intriguing question. 'What if animals all across the globe decided no more' and fight back.

In Botswana Jackson Oz (James Wolk), an American zoologist finds out that people have been attacked in a safari camp and he recounts a crazy theory his dad once had. Something to do with an eye of the tiger, sorry lion. A mark of defiance.

In the USA feisty journalist Jamie Campbell (Kristen Connolly) is investigating a link between some fourth grade animal feed from a shady corporation called Raiden and deduces that is linked to some attacks by lions.

It might be laughable that the outbreak is somehow coordinated worldwide lending a global apocalypse structure to the series. It would also be fun guessing which guest star will be the meal of the week.

I want more!

I've enjoyed James Patterson's works before and wanted to see this production as it is so different to his earlier works. This is about wild animals that suddenly turn to hunting and killing humans deliberately and not because of the necessity as a source of food.

Lions have escaped from a L.A. zoo in America and are on a killing spree. Our heroine, played by Kristen Connolly as a sharp blogger and reporter, thinks it's because of a change of diet provided to the zoo by a suspect global food company and she enlists the help of a veterinary pathologist in her investigation. On the other side of the world, in Botswana,Africa, our hero, played by James Wolk, is discovering that lions are doing the same to tourists on safaris that he is working with.He saves a female French tourist from a lion 'kill' where all the other members of the safari have been killed.

Quite intriguing so far and could there be a connection with the big food company---- not likely as the attacks are affecting animals in the wild. How do our hero and heroine's paths cross (if at all)? All must be revealed in the future episodes and this opening sets it up nicely.

The World As Seen Through The Eyes Of A Child

"What if animals all across the globe decided 'no more' and fight back". That's a pretty dumb statement- and that pretty much sums up First Blood- a collection of pretty dumb statements mouthed by characters I care nothing about.
