Since the move to Chicago, the story became more intruiging, then Grace is killed by Roberts, which kind of sets the story free from the earlier seasons. Grace had outlived her utility, apparently, and having her killed by Roberts shifts the series to the more interesting central figure: Ethan Kelly.
Ethan is a more believable character anyway. Grace being some larger than life cop was just too much in line with the cops-as-heroes theme that had kept me from liking the show. It helped a little that the cops were kinda/sorta Rogue, as the title says, but it still left the story stumbling around in the dark and falling into plot holes.
Now we have a series about corrupt military/intelligence figures, corrupt big shot lawyers and street gangs tied together, and actual rogue cops in both cities. To me, a rogue cop is a criminal by choice, not a cop that the corrupt bosses would consider rogues, like Grace.
I'm starting to get more interested in the series now.
