[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Resident Season 5, Episode 13 “Viral.”] Oh, it’s going to be so satisfying when Dr. Billie Sutton (Jessica Lucas) takes down her rapist, Dr. Robert Porter (Scott Cohen). (Because that has to happen … right?) After giving her statement about what he did to her and spending the night Googling the orthopedic surgeon, Billie is surprised when she finds out from Dr. Randolph Bell (Bruce Greenwood) that he still seems to be in the running for the seat on the State Medical Board. “I heard there are multiple ethics complaints against him,” she says. “Thought that might get him disqualified.” Then, Lieutenant Governor Beaumont (Raphael Sbarge) calls up Bell to tell him that they can no longer offer him that seat since a complaint against Porter from the doctor who recommended him is a conflict of interest. In fact, he accuses Bell of orchestrating it. That was supposed to be anonymous,...

Poor Morgan Jones has seen better days after being shot and left for dead in the Fear the Walking Dead season 5 cliffhanger, but he quickly learns in the season 6 premiere that the gangrene eating away at his flesh is the least of his worries. There’s an axe-wielding bounty hunter named Emile Laroux (Demetrius Grosse) on his trail, hired to collect Morgan’s head for Virginia, who is too much of a coward to finish the job herself.
Emile ends up being nothing more than a one-off villain meant to spark new life in Morgan, who had lost the will to live after being defeated by the Pioneers last season, but his introduction does also tease quite a few things about season 6 nonetheless. For one thing, it’s confirmed through Emile’s very existence that there are bounty hunters wandering around The Walking Dead universe and ready to chop off heads.

While the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 is still ongoing, and will probably continue for quite some time, this naturally does not stop movie publishers worldwide to try and cash in on these developments. At least it seems that way, considering a South Korean film which was made in 2013 has been published in countries like Germany, albeit under the much more fitting title “Pandemic”. Leaving this context aside “Flu” is yet another entry into South Korea’s ventures into the genre of the disaster movie after such promising releases like “Ashfall”. Directed by Kim Sung-soo (“Asura: The City of Madness”) “Flu” combines the aesthetics of blockbuster cinema with a human story about survival and saving others.

The pandemic’s reach is about to extend to scripted television. With production slowly ramping back up to fill a fall programming block the networks cannot afford to see empty, fiction writers who’ve been living under social distancing guidelines and shelter-at-home orders are being asked to put pen to paper and crank out some good old-fashioned entertainment again. Like their peers in late-night and on the nightly news, these TV authors are now being asked to mine their imagination for storylines that make for must-see TV.

The 68th edition of Spain’s San Sebastian Film Festival gets underway tonight with the world premiere screening of Rifkin’s Festival, Woody Allen’s latest movie.
The filmmaker was unable to jet into the fest due to ongoing pandemic disruption, appearing at the opening press conference via video link from New York. While San Seb won’t have its usual cohort of A-list names, several recognizable faces are heading to Spain in the coming days, including Johnny Depp, Viggo Mortensen, and Matt Dillon, with most of the guests arriving from Europe.
Rifkin’s Festival is set during a fictional edition of the San Sebastian fest and also shot in the town. Allen told press today that he was disappointed not to be returning for his premiere.
“The most delightful part of working on this film was that my family and myself could spend months in San Sebastian,” he commented.

The same Call of Duty datamining operations that brought us information about Cold War‘s plot also revealed that some exciting new modes are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone.
According to the ModernWarzone Twitter account (an active Call of Duty dataminer), there are four special modes rumored to be added to Call of Duty: Warzone in the near future. They include: Pandemic/Outbreak, Armored Cargo/Truck Wars, Plunder: Fire Sale, Zombie Royale.
The only mode that the leak seems to offer any additional information about is “Zombie Royale.” The report indicates that any player who dies in this mode will become a zombie. The only way to turn yourself back into a human is to eat the heart of a “fallen” player. The team with the last human standing is the winner.

While it’s nice that we’re already in August, the year has been going by at a snail’s pace with the pandemic really messing up things. So, even though it feels like it’s been years since the film and TV industry has been shut down, it’s actually only been several months and it seems as if more and more productions are beginning again. That means we should be seeing delayed shows and films get firm release dates.

Netflix’s “Project Power” has been in the works years, but the wait for the action movie’s release is almost over. The streaming service is releasing the movie on its platform August 14 and has unveiled the trailer for the sci-fi action thriller. “Project Power” takes place in a world where a special drug empowers humans with random superhuman abilities for five minutes. A father (Jamie Foxx) must rescue his daughter (Dominique Fishback) from the drug’s villainous manufacturers while working alongside unexpected allies. The film also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who plays a police detective who gets involved in Foxx’s character’s quest, Machine Gun Kelly, Rodrigo Santoro, Amy Landecker, and Allen Maldonado.
While “Project Power” features a drug that grants humans superpowers, the wild first trailer below suggests the film isn’t shaping up to be your everyday summer superhero flick. “Project Power” marks a major step forward...

The gravity-abused life of iconic stuntman Evel Knievel (1938-2007) was set to be chronicled by USA Network, which last year ordered a limited series, titled Evel, with Milo Ventimiglia tapped to star as the iconic daredevil. However, the world has obviously experienced significant changes since those plans were first spun, and it seems that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused Evel to wipe out from the cable channel’s production slate.
USA Network has scrapped Evel, according to THR. The project, which was picked up to series in September 2019, saw its New Mexico production—which was finishing location prep and was on the verge of rolling cameras—shut down this past March as the pandemic escalated. That move saw Ventimiglia and the rest of the cast—Sarah Gadon, David Krumholtz and Michael Chernus—sent home. Now, four months after that event, it seems that—rather than delaying production—the network has...

Appropriately titled "Pandemic," the new episode will highlight "the daily sacrifices healthcare heroes have made to provide care on the frontlines of a continuing global crisis," Netflix said. A coalition of more than three dozen entertainment industry organizations is asking Congress to reform the implementation of the Cares Act by enacting a new Covid relief package.
The groups include Actors Equity, the American Federation of Musicians, SAG-aftra, the Recording Industry Association of America, Digital Media Association, Paradigm Talent Agency, the Recording Academy, the Writers Guild of America East and music publishers Ascap, Bmi and the Association of Independent Music Publishers. Thq Nordic promised to share some surprises ahead of E3 2019, and they certainly made good on that promise with the reveal of the long-awaited Destroy All Humans! remake.
Like many of the recent Thq Nordic announcements, understanding the appeal of this particular project requires a bit of history. First released in 2005, Destroy All Humans! allowed players to control an alien invader in an open-world environment heavily inspired by 50s sci-fi Americana. The game’s sense of humor and style certainly did quite a bit of heavy lifting, but the game itself was actually quite good.
You have developer Pandemic Studios to thank for that. Pandemic Studios was once known as the best source for action-heavy open-world experiences that really felt like they were offering you a true playground to roam around in. Warner Brothers and DC’s upcoming Flash film has been promising to continue DC’s trend of cosmic crises. We know that the pic will portray its titular speedster’s habit of getting caught up in canon-altering time travel shenanigans and that several events from previous movies in the franchise will be altered or undone thanks to the actions of Barry Allen.
Now, what exactly all these alterations will be, we don’t know for sure, but We Got This Covered has recently heard from our sources – the same ones who told us a Justice League Dark show is coming to HBO Max and that Viola Davis was returning for The Suicide Squad – that one of the retcons currently planned for the Dceu will be the death of iconic Batman villain Black Mask, whose cinematic debut and demise both occurred in this year’s Birds of Prey.

Mr Pillow.
After filming mostly at night and weekends over six months, Michael Booth has finished Mr Pillow – his self-proclaimed “love letter to Sydney” – and is getting ready to share it with the world.
The filmmaker/playwright/actor was inspired to make the psychological romantic drama by Stephen Graham’s short story of the same name, a first-person fable about a troubled man caught in a love triangle between his new girlfriend and her favourite pillow.
He funded the film for less than $50,000 partly from the money he earned playing Harry in three seasons of Network 10’s Wonderland, with cameras and other gear donated through his association with TV crews.
Andrew Henry plays Sean, a young guy who is terrified of talking to women. When he finally musters the courage, he meets Sarah (Gemma Atkinson), a seemingly happy young woman who is charmed by Sean’s awkwardness.
