Good mixture of romance and courtroom suspense
khemass10 September 2023
In the first few minutes, I thought the film is just another silly love story, but as the story unfolded, it became more interesting and was able to grab my attention. I think the movie blended the story of love into an intense story of court and laws. The plot is not difficult to understand and not boring, although the crimes that took place seem real and add a lot of tension to the movie.

I'm not going to do a plot summary because you can read elsewhere. I want to commend the two major aspects: the performance of some leading characters and the story itself.

Lee Jong-Suk really shines brightly in this film. The true emotional expression on his face in some sad or heartbreaking scenes makes me feel that he's a brilliant actor. Not to mention how charming he is. Another one to applaud is the main villain of the story. He really looks vengeful and scary, making me routing for the main characters to protect themselves. The female leading role is fine, but nothing impressive.

The story itself is gripping enough, reflecting the reality of the court, the heartbreaking truth in some cases, the hope and dream of those working with the law, with a bit comedy to entertain the audience. It's the right mixture, like a dish where you put the right amount of each ingredient so the result is smooth and yummy. The ability to read mind of the boy is used as a tool to makes the story different from most courtroom drama or romance, but it was used as just the right amount to add the heartwarming moments and to be part of the pain that the boy has to go through from his childhood.

Overall, it is a series worth watching. It is a romantic comedy mixed with serious drama and courtroom suspense. A good mix, not a mess.
