The Solution Group has boarded international sales ahead of Cannes Vault, acrime story from Verdi Productions (Bleed for This) that recently wrapped principal photography in Rhode Island.
Directed by Tom DeNucci, the feature stars Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy) in the lead role, Chazz Palminteri as crime boss Raymond Patriarca and Don Johnson as Rhode Island gangster Gerard Ouimette. The pic is from a script written by DeNucci and B. Dolan.
The movie is inspired by the true story of a group of small-time criminals who ransacked more than a hundred massive safe-deposit boxes at a secret bank location. The crooks fled with duffel bags crammed full of cash, gold, silver, stamps, coins and high-end jewelry, pulling off one of the biggest heists in American history by stealing over $3oM from the mafia.

The kitchen sink’s thrown against the wall with bathtub, toilet, and whatever else made of easily-shattered porcelain in the house following right behind—this is Mark Kemble‘s Bad Hurt. Adapted from his semi-autobiographical play “Bad Hurt on Cedar Street” with the help of Jamieson Stern, the film depicts a dysfunctional family that drew the shortest of straws in terms of volatility and hardship. But with that burden comes the capacity for strength in love to somehow overcome. Doing so is difficult, enough that the attempt will prove futile time and time again, but it is possible. More suffering will arrive on the horizon as hard truths needing to be uncovered and accepted to approach calm appear and it’ll all destroy as surely as it’ll galvanize.
This is far from a simple story, but one quickly dismissed as contrived or melodramatic. While it’s both those things...

When asked what the hometown of horror is, Providence, Ri, doesn't immediately come to mind. But Woodhaven has become a prolific horror studio, located right in the heart of New England, and we recently visited the set of their newest film, Almost Mercy.
The location was a no-tell motel where, if the walls could talk…Omg, the stories they would tell! It was the perfect setting for one of the key scenes for the film. Director Tom DeNucci took some time out of his shooting schedule to talk about Almost Mercy and the progress of Woodhaven Productions.
"The film is definitely darker, definitely more sinister. It has a lot less of the campy throwback horror-comedy," DeNucci said. "However, it does have a very slick, cutting and mean dark comedy to it, which is fun. I've never had a chance to flex those muscles before. That I attribute to getting to work with B.
