Amazing documentary! Chronicles the birth and development of the specialty of Emergency Medicine with detailed time line and fascinating anecdotes from founders and practitioners. Impressive to learn what was accomplished to create this relatively new specialty. What we take for granted, was hard won by some entrepreneurial mavericks, along with a good dose of serendipity. What comes through loud and clear is the passion to save lives and the vision, dedication and cleverness it took early on to transform our medical training and delivery systems, from overcoming a stigma that the specialty was somehow irrelevant to shaping and enacting legislation. Very high quality production - provocative, historic, intriguing, moving, captivating - a class act. Anthony Edwards narrates, a clever bit of casting. Everyone who has gone or may ever go to an Emergency Department should see this.
