Agents of Shield's mid season finale is herE and it left us with a lot of questions, which is a good thing. This episodes had its ups and downs but thankfully it is mostly up.
It is great to see Mike back as J August Richards is an amazing actor. His acting chops were clear as he showed his emotions especially over the safety of his son.
It is also interesting to see how Ward and May's sexual relationship is affecting their work life. May believes that Ward might be conflicting the two, but Ward rebuffs her which makes it pretty interesting because it's hard to see who has the power in that relationship.
Having Centipede come back is basically a guarantee that they are the major villain in this season and that the Clairvoyant is at its head. As said in the episode, their technology is advancing really fast so someone has to be funding them. My money is on Ian Quinn because we have been introduced to him, he's very wealthy and he's in the wind.
The action in this episode is good to with the fight in the warehouse with May, Ward, Coulson and Mike taking on a bunch of enhanced soldiers.
There was a very nice twist at the end as the Clairvoyant and Centipede took Coulson, instead of Mike, who they said they wanted but actually didn't. Hopefully we'll get to see how he was brought back in the next few episodes.
One major complaint about this episode is Skye. Her search for her parents could make for an interesting plot point but her emotional breakdown after May tells her to focus on the mission not her personal problems was annoying. She keeps saying that she wants to be a Shield agent but she teeters back and forth between determined and weepy.
+ Great to see Mike + Return of Centipede and Clairvoyant + Relationship between Ward and May + Pretty decent action - Skye's personal problems
Final Score: 8.6/10
