The video, "I made a movie, it stunk" is why the movie is so great. It's a great film on it's own, but the story behind it is even greater.

Great for a Low Budget Film

Although the movie itself may not be the greatest, this is a fantastic movie, as it showed what's possible with a few thousand bucks, a camera, and an idea. I also watched the Austin's Video "I made a movie, it stunk." and seeing the production process for how the film was made was amazing. Sure, there were some (many) mishaps during the film's shooting, but I see this film as a resource and opportunity for people to learn. Overall, I think this was amazing for being Mr. McConnell's first movie, and I give it a 10/10 for Creativity, good acting, fantastic cinematography, and a great producer that gave it his all.
Amazing Movie

You will not enjoy this movie, unless...

Speaking objectively, this is not a good film, even for a low-budget indie filmmaker. It has a decent cast and some amazing cinematography at certain points (I.E. The salon sequence), but other than that, this movie isn't good. The story is a little ridiculous at points, and the movie itself felt rushed for 80% of its runtime.
The incredibly interesting story behind this production is the reason I found the movie and Austin's YouTube channel. I recommend watching that instead of the movie. I know this page has a lot of 10/10 reviews, but they are not talking about the movie. They are talking about either the creator himself or his behind-the-scenes video: "I made a movie, it sucked." Which I would give a 10/10 too, but that's a separate video on a completely different platform. I respect the creator's wish to not glorify his hour and ten minutes of vanity, so I won't. It's not a complete failure with absolutely no redeeming value, but unless you are watching it for a very specific reason, you will not enjoy this movie.

It's not a very good film, but I think it's okay for someone's first try and with no money. He's a very nice and sweet guy and I wish he would give filmmaking another shot and not let one bad experience bring him down
It was nearly great

The film was almost fantastic, unfortunately, the slightly amateurish acting and unusual pacing in certain scenes didn't allow for a 10/10 rating. The salon scene really highlighted just how much potential the film had, the synergy between the actors was phenomenal and especially at such a key point in the movie. All in all I'd say, as someone who has written, acted in and produced a short film myself, a wonderful first attempt.
Pretty captivating

I saw the movie at a cinema festival in 2015,
definitly liked the movie despite it's flaws.
I would definitly support the director of this movie so that he could make something with a bigger budget, that chance at making something good would be earned.
Keep creating movies and dont give up.

A good movie being low budget

For a movie having a budget under an average movie I'd watch, it's wonderful, shows how you can make a movie good without money and famous actors, all you needs is a crew and a camera. I was fortunate enough to watch this movie after watching a video by the director himself and it isn't as bad as he said it was. Give it a chance as it was his first movie.
