She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: Whose Show Is This? (2022)
An ending so muddled and confused, the show itself seemed to realise it was going nowhere
When a show consistently breaks the fourth wall to reference how poor the writing is, it doesn't reflect well. When a show breaks the fourth wall in the middle of the season climax to derail, destroy all pre-established tension and also drive any viewer interest into the ground, it REALLY doesn't reflect well.
In the final episode, the large fight at the end is poorly put together with several large inconsistencies, Emil turning into the abomination for profit for example going squarely against his development throughout the show. We also miss the fight because Jen decides to talk to K. E. V. I. N and demand the ending be changed to meet her standards.
She is a self-absorbed heroine who doesn't feel as though she made any effort towards her power and connecting with them throughout the show. This feels incredibly sour to any viewer who has watched The Hulk's progression in the MCU, seen his struggle, only to have it all devalued and mocked by Jennifer Walters during the very first episode.
She also comes to very few revelations on her own and only in the 8th episode at the words of Daredevil, does she seem to suddenly perform a 180 degree shift in character to actually wishing to use her powers.
A Little Late with Lilly Singh (2019)
Worse than the average Amy Schumer performance
Lilly Singh stooped incredibly far while making this. Consistently making horrendous jokes that were borderline offensive and critiquing genuinely good filmmakers in the process.
She puts herself on some kind of undeserved pedestal and acts as though she has somehow produced anything of value past her YouTube heyday.
Son of the Mask (2005)
The original Mask only worked because of Jim Carrey
As hard as this film tried, it could not live up to Jim Carrey's unbelievable performance as Stanley Ipkiss. He carried the entirety of the first film aided by Cameron Diaz and kept it light and enjoyable.
This film is a car wreck disguising itself as a Hollywood blockbuster. The script is immature, the jokes constantly miss and the actors seem to either have no ability to act or instead choose to act 4 years old.
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Do not take this film as seriously as the first two
This film was rather obviously toeing the line between comedy and serious action yet somehow manages to do so in a rather fantastic way. The film juggles a few plot lines and admittedly the Venom plot line could've been cut but the film really isn't afraid to have an unlikeable protagonist for a good portion. This is a really bold move that paid off tremendously and the scene displaying the birth of Sandman makes me wish I could give this film 11/10 stars.
Sprouting Orchids (2014)
It was nearly great
The film was almost fantastic, unfortunately, the slightly amateurish acting and unusual pacing in certain scenes didn't allow for a 10/10 rating. The salon scene really highlighted just how much potential the film had, the synergy between the actors was phenomenal and especially at such a key point in the movie. All in all I'd say, as someone who has written, acted in and produced a short film myself, a wonderful first attempt.
