Warning: Spoilers
"Neko no shukai"("A Gathering of Cats")was part of "Ani*Kuri15", a series of fifteen 1-minute shorts done by different Japanese animators (Like Mamoru Oshii, Shōji Kawamori, Mahiro Maeda and Satoshi Kon)

Here, Makoto Shinkai (Director of "5 Centimeters Per Second" and "Voices of a Distant Star") does a charming homage to the films done by Studio Ghibli (The character designs reminded me a lot the visual style of Katsuya Kondō, the artist responsible for the character designs in most of the movies done by that company) with a cute and funny story which is quite enjoyable to watch and appropriate for all audiences.

Definitely a worth-watching work.

Way too much for one minute

Warning: Spoilers
"Neko nu shukai" or "A Gathering of Cats" is a Japanese really short film from almost 10 years ago. In fact, it only runs for one minute and was written and directed by Makoto Shinkai, a fairly successful anime director from the Asian country. This one here shows us how the owner of a cat constantly step on the animal's tail and the cat is angry and plans to destroy the city with some other cats in something like an atomic explosion. However, then the cats gets food and attention and all is fine again, or is it really? I liked the animation here, but still it was a pretty strange film. Felt really all over the place to me. It went so fast and they certainly could have made this one 5 minutes long instead. Not really a great watch, Shinkai has much better works in his body of work. Not recommended.
