Puppies rule
Jackbv12319 May 2024
This movie seems to prioritize the following themes in this order: 1) Cutthroat business wars; 2) Puppies and dogs; 3) Work/life balance; 4) Scarlett and Alex's relationship. The ranking is subjective as I saw it. Regardless of that, my point is that this rom/com spent a LOT of screen time on the business wars including unethical conduct behind the scenes. I don't tune in to Hallmark to watch a cliche portrayal of cutthroat business. I suspect most people who tune in to this channel do so more for relationship development.

The theme of work/life balance has been popular on Hallmark for a while now. There is nothing wrong with it, but it gets a lot of play.

The puppies are definitely cute and are a definite plus for this movie.

Scarlett's dog treats were almost magical in the way dogs reacted so instantly and so strongly. And they are healthy too!

Acting. Something was off at times. Rather than the acting, it may have been something else. Transitions were rough at times. Dialogue seemed trite at times. And the brand Pup Chuck. I did a web search on those two words and off to the right, but at the top of the page was a definition section for the word "up-chuck". The similarity is probably intentional since the guy pushing the Pup Chuck brand was the movie's cardboard villain. He didn't have a handlebar mustache though. Maybe the thing that seemed off to me was the humor which seemed to be based on parody but didn't seem to be invested in it.

Stephen Huszar is 40 this year. The only thing I could find about Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes was somewhere between 22 and 28. That's a notable age difference for a romance story. Scarlett's character seemed youngish in the way she approached things.

For story and acting, I would probably not watch this again. The puppies and dogs made it watchable for one time through.

Short on Puppies
swissbuttercream19 May 2024
I was under the false impression that this movie would have a lot more puppies, puppy products, and a love story somewhere there in. Instead, there was a disappointing focus on the "business" of selling puppies (which is distasteful in the way it was portrayed), a company selling only a single dog treat, and a David vs Goliath business feud.

The love story here was lackluster and left me questioning which love interest would have been better for him in the end after all. I am not sure if it was a lack of chemistry or the way their relationship was portrayed within the plot but it missed the mark. Overall the movie was watchable but fell a bit flat.

This film takes two steps backward
MickyG33320 May 2024
6.8 stars.

While I really like both lead actors, this story fails to entertain in most ways that I would prefer. The romantic aspect is all but non-existent, which I can tolerate as long as the story can rise to the challenge. Unfortunately, it does not.

A woman has created a puppy biscuit shaped like a bone (like Milkbone dog biscuits) and all the dogs and pups seem to love this brand more than the others on the market. It's also one of the healthiest versions. A large competitor does everything he can to shut down her fledgling dog food business. One very charming man at a large pet store does his best to help the woman get the product on the shelves. This is their story.

The charming and good looking man falls for the woman, he's a muscle bound store manager. She is somewhat endearing, but we don't get to see anything special happen between them. There are some misunderstandings, but the drama is lackluster. Her friend (who is a partner in her doggy business) is likable, but undeveloped as a personality. He has an ex-girlfriend (sort of) who is his currently his superior and works at the corporate office of the pet store chain for which he is a manager of one store location. There is nothing interesting about her at all. She's not even antagonist worthy, just a character with no depth.

'Puppies Everywhere' didn't bring me any excitement or anticipation, because it's too generic and limited and there isn't a large variety of puppies in the film. What I described above is literally most of the story. There aren't any real twists or turns, no side story to elevate the experience, no wow factor. None of the supporting cast stand out as being exceptional. This film is bland. I have no plans to see this again.

Cute puppies but not much else.
Avidviewer-0284723 May 2024
As with many Hallmarks movies, this one has a poor script so it was flawed from the start. Steve Huszar is a known quantity, he's been in many Hallmark movies and he's a good and reliable actor. The lead actress is always the star, but casting Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes was a huge mistake, she's terrible as is the director for not getting a better performance from her.

Puppies are always an attention grabber in movies, but they weren't enough to salvage this film. As always Hallmark locations are great and I've always appreciated their positive movies, but some are better than others. Overall their quality is much better than Real One Entertainment and Nicely films, they are still the gold standard for mass produced rom-coms.

What did I watch!
krtrivette20 May 2024
I feel that Stephen's talent was wasted with this movie. Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes is lacking, I'm not sure if it was chemistry between her and Stephen or she is just that bad at portraying this particular character. Trying to mix comedy with sexual harassment in the workplace didn't sit well with me and is very surprising to me that Hallmark didn't think this through. The lack of "puppies" was very disappointing as well, yes there was some dogs, but very little scenes with puppies. This is movie was so bad that I actually created an account to leave a review and I was curious what others had to say as well.

No Romance Just Breeding
hockins-2484526 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
With all the strays promoting puppy mill style breeding is a big downfall of this movie. The dog is tired from breeding again before the puppies are gone. Alex is more like an uncle than a romantic interest of an immature young lady. The squealing is too much high school. The sexual harassment from the boss lady is bad. Disappointing that they focus on the corrupt business practices. She could have easily put the product online or open her own store. Too many plots, bad story, and mediocre acting makes this a one watch show. The main sponsor Smack is super expensive. Overall not going to get repeat watching.

Really, really loved this one
johnc-519 May 2024
I am a fan of Hallmark and this one is a legit winner. It's funny, sweet, cozy, and special. The two main leads are awesome. The head Pup Chuck guy is also tremendous, what a perfect jerk. The sidekick lady friend Kathryn Davis is always great in her roles, leading or otherwise.

The story starts strong, and the animals are very fluffy and cute. Stephen H and. Pascal L are both excellent in everything but their chemistry in this one was especially strong.

Scarlett's father was particularly excellent and I can't find his name, but he was sweet with very kind eyes.

If you're into Hallmark movies, watch this one. If you like dogs, watch. If you just want to feel good and see some upstart kids stick it to the man, watch this. Have fun.

I Wouldn't Do Business With These Women
JerseyGirl5026 May 2024
...and I'm a woman. They are so completely unprofessional. Screeching and giggling when they get an order from the pet food store right in front of the person giving them the order.

Hallmark - have you gotten new writers recently? This is the second review in a row of your new movies that I've written that is negative because of the way the women are portrayed.

I agree with the other reviewers in that I don't expect serious movies from Hallmark, but can we at least make the women not seem like complete idiots?

And my husband's contribution: "This is not on my list of the top 1,000 Hallmark movies."

What you expect from Hallmark.
paulclaassen25 May 2024
What attracted me to 'Everything Puppies' was its title. I love dogs!! Being a Hallmark movie, it is cheesy, but that's what you expect from Hallmark - and I'm not being critical by saying it. They are cheesy, but they're feel-good movies serving as lighthearted entertainment. This is what I expected going into the movie. And I wasn't disappointed.

'Everything Puppies' is a cute little movie and the puppies are adorable! Ok, so they're not given all that much screen time and the movie doesn't actually revolve around the puppies. The story is about Scarlett, an entrepreneur who designs dog toys, and makes healthy dog treats. Together with her friend Gina they start Puppy Palate.

Getting into the corporate world is tough, as they soon realize. Then they meet Alex - general manager of a Paws and Wellness Emporium store, who decides to give them a chance. Oh, Alex! Stephen Huszar stars as Alex, and he is a handsome hunk of a man with a great body!

Erm, before I get sidetracked here, the film follows the business relationship between Scarlett and Alex, which predictably transforms into a romance. Off course, there are obstacles challenging their relationship, but I really enjoyed Alex as a sincere and very likeable character. I must be honest, I didn't always find Scarlett all that likeable and even questioned her reasoning and actions at times. The film in general is not realistic, but then again, it's not meant to be taken seriously.

Well, if the characters doesn't always leave you smiling, the puppies certainly will! I do think 'Everything Puppies' will appeal more to the female demographic (chick flick), but it served its purpose for what I was in the mood for at the time.

Boring Too Predictable
siouxspur1 June 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It starts out promising as an enterprising woman entrepreneur, Scarlett, starts a business making healthy dog treats that dogs love. She attempts to sell her treats to stores, but she meets with opposition as a big dog food company conglomerate has a monopoly on all the pet store shelf space. She finally finds a sympathetic ear, store Manager, Alex, who agrees to sell her treats and they are a hit with customers, and a romance starts to blossom between the store manager and the treat maker. However, the big conglomerate dog food company puts forth a plan to end her success, while the store Manager tries to counter the attempt and help the woman he's fallen in love with succeed. I did not care for the female lead actor, Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes who played Scarlett, there was something that prevented the chemistry to flow between her and the male lead, Stephen Huszar, who plays Alex. There's a subplot of Scarlett's father and his dog breeding business, this is where the occasional cute shot of puppies comes in and the movie gets its name. The actor that plays Scarlett's father and runs the dog breeding business needs acting lessons. The movie and romance ends rather abruptly...the final scene takes place at a camp site and Alex briefly calls Scarlett his fiancee, but the movie skips this important critical part and we never really got to see a serious relationship develop. Overall, a very disappointing and very predictable movie. It needed less puppies and more romance!
