I saw the short film, The Bloody Chamber as a short before the feature film, yes, short features were a thing back then. It was a beautifully shot and wonderfully acted short film based on Angela Carter's story of the same name.
I wish I could see this film again but alas, no one seems to have it and it's a shame because it is a treat to watch. Hauntingly beautiful and chilling at the same time, it is a take on the old story of Bluebeard which of course was loosely based on Gilles de Rais.
It is a shame that this film has dropped off the radar because even though it was filmed as a featurette, it deserves to be seen again.
