DESIGNED TO PLEASE ALL MEN
nogodnomasters5 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Aliens that can turn itself from a parasite to a green gas infect a ship's crew turning them into mindless zombies. The film consists of the crew running away from the zombies and hiding. Paul Day wrote, directed, and starred in this sometimes campy film as Captain Lazlo, but seemingly no relation to Lazlo Toth. The girls were pretty, some in harem outfits. The ham acting and the film was directed toward a younger crowd, i.e. Saturday morning kids. The cyborg on board was an Acme Pleasure Bot model 34B. Computer graphics looked old.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity. Some minor sexual innuendo talk. Abigail Jayne Martin bra/panties.

Beyond Redemption: Aptly named
Snootz10 February 2016
Without knowing the background of this movie I can only rate it on presentation. This is one of the slowest. moving. movies. ever. It's a 20-minute story done in 2 hours. Without getting into spoilers, a space ship is infected by an alien organism which must be overcome before it destroys the ship. While some of the crew members are marginally enjoyable (the Captain, slow and plodding as the script may be, was acted with reasonable skill, as was the chief engineer), overall the story felt like it limped along like the infected characters. What to do? What to do? Well... according to the script "what to do" consists mainly of walking through claustrophobic corridors, easily avoiding contaminated crew members, knocking on doors, opening said doors, closing those doors, waiting in confined little spaces, conducting droll conversations with little or no substance, and drinking water. In fact, that description takes place so much in the movie it's almost a spoiler in itself. But it's not. Because while about 98% of the movie consists of all of the above, there is about 2% that keeps this from being rated less than the 3 stars I've given it. There is not one laugh, not a single scare, no high points, no plot buildup, no surprises and nothing really exciting in the entire film (aside from the gratuitous bikini shots, and even those are somewhat scarce and droll). I kept waiting for it to get better... but it just didn't. If you're bored out of your mind and don't mind being still bored out of your mind, this is the movie to see. But if you're expecting plausible, thoughtful or enjoyable science fiction I can earnestly say the only thing well-done in this film are the explosions, which aren't half bad. Beyond that this is about on the level of watching a game of golf... in slow motion.
