Michael J. Fox is great, but the rest of the cast is sadly wanting with characters that just aren't needed at all, especially his sister. The kids are completely and utterly typical of every sitcom ever made and lend nothing to the show. There is absolutely no chemistry whatsoever between Fox and Brandt. Worst of all NBC shoves the crappy Today Show and especially Matt Lauer down our throats in another desperate attempt to try and leach some of Fox's appeal back to jerk of the year Lauer. (Spoiler Alert) Fox's energy and delivery of the story about the 911 upgrade is spot-on as is his timing breaking the dishwasher door with the youngest. The B story about the video and the eldest son's college failures are just cut and pasted in from so many other boring sitcoms.
Bottom-line, if they scrapped the show, restarted with just Fox, I'd watch episode #2. As it is... I think I'm done.
