"Paralyzed by his fear of dying, Miles Grissom (Clark Freeman) offers a cash reward to the first person who can show him a ghost, an angel, a demon, or anything to prove the existence of an afterlife. He narrows responses down to three candidates - a scientist, a medium, and a worldly entrepreneur. And along with his fiercely protective mother (Annette O'Toole), he embarks on an adventure that will spiral into an unthinkable nightmare.
From Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton, the directors of the chilling YellowBrickRoad, comes a supremely accomplished supernatural thriller, “one of the most gripping paranormal explorations that cinema has seen in years” (Fantasia Int’l Film Festival) and winner of Audience Awards at Dances with Films and the Dead by Dawn Horror Film Festival,...

Stephen King may be an unquestionable master of the horror genre, but his storytelling reaches a whole new level when it comes to the proclaimed author’s dramatic narrative.
Behind the immense popularity of King’s eerie novels It, Carrie or The Shining, there are some truly brilliant pieces of his work like Stand by Me, The Green Mile or The Shawshank Redemption that for some reason went more into the scary stories’ shadows.
King’s drama novels nonetheless prove themselves to be a lot deeper regarding some mundane aspects, and Hulu’s unfairly forgotten miniseries appears to be a good example for it.
What Is 11.22.63 About?
Based on King’s 2011 novel of the same name, Hulu’s sci-fi drama show 11.22.63 follows Jake Epping, a recently divorced English teacher living in Maine (just like Stephen King’s many other fictional characters). Out of nowhere Jake is given a one-in-a-million...

Utopia represents the worldwide rights to the project, and Screen Daily reports that they’ll be launching distribution sales at the European Film Market, which will be held during the 74th Berlin International Film Festival later this month.
I Live Here Now sees Fry taking on the role of a woman who finds herself trapped in a remote hotel where the violent echoes of her past come alive, blurring the lines between her darkest nightmares and the waking world.
In addition to Wolf Creek, Fry’s credits include Vampire Academy, Mr. Church, 11.22.63, The Darkness, Bright, Night Teeth, She’s Missing,...

Exclusive: Warner Bros. has acquired the Stephen King bestseller Billy Summers.
While in development, the feature project will be produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way. If this comes out great, it could be a project for Abrams to direct with DiCaprio playing the title character.
Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz are writing the screenplay.
This was originally packaged as a ten-episode limited series, shopped around to cable networks and streamers, as we first told you last February, but the decision was made that Billy Summers would work better as a feature.
Billy Summers is a hitman who is looking to retire and takes one last highly lucrative job to feather his nest. The job requires him to embed himself in a quiet town, where he pretends to be an aspiring writer (he actually pours himself into the prose). He sets up in an...

McGhee will write and executive produce alongside Sabrina Wind.
Kitsis and Hororwitz’s “Epic” is described as a “romantic anthology series that reinvents fairy tales for a new audience.” Brigitte Hales, a veteran of “Once Upon a Time” and Hulu’s “11.22.63,” will write the pilot and executive produce.

George MacKay has been bubbling beneath the surface of stardom. He’s starred in a number of both British and American independent features such as “The Boys are Back,” “Pride” and “Captain Fantastic,” but even most cinephiles would have a hard time remembering his credits. He’s familiar most because of the latter release, but he was recognizable on the Hulu mini-series “11.22.63” a few years back as well.

When Zander Lehmann chose to write an episode of “Casual” envisioning the end the National Football League, it wasn’t a rash decision.
“I was terrified of the NFL in writing this,” Lehmann said in a recent interview with IndieWire. “I was basically shocked at every turn that they didn’t shut it down or say we couldn’t do this.”
The episode — pointedly titled “The Last Super Bowl” — follows the series’ de facto leads Alex (Tommy Dewey) and Valerie (Michaela Watkins) as the former hosts a spur-of-the-moment Super Bowl party in his expansive Los Angeles home. But Alex’s party isn’t celebrating the big game itself; it’s celebrating that it’s the last “big game” ever. In Lehmann’s imagined future, set approximately five years from today, “the NFL is on the one-yard-line of its demise” after the courts side with the players’ union and force the league to shut down.

Hulu has renewed the psychological horror series Castle Rock for a second season. The series, from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and novelist Stephen King, enjoyed one of the most successful launches for a Hulu Original, in terms of reach and consumption. The sixth episode of the series premieres on Wednesday.
Castle Rock is one of a growing number of original series on Hulu, as the streaming service looks to attract subscribers and compete with streaming giants Netflix and Amazon.
CEO Randy Freer has talked about investing in fewer but bigger impact shows — in the mold of this year’s Emmy-nominated The Handmaid’s Tale and The Looming Tower, rather than matching Netflix’s spending on original content.
“We’re not going to make 800 shows,” Freer told CNBC in a June interview. “I mean, next year we’ll probably make 20 or 25. And it’s important to us to make big,...
