Summer hasn’t even started yet, but we’ve already got Christmas on our minds!
Hallmark announced today that two of the network’s most beloved stars have wrapped filming on an upcoming holiday movie for 2024.
It’s hard to believe that Lacey Chabert and Kristoffer Polaha have not worked together before, but we’re about to see them in action.
That’s a very literal description of their upcoming movies, and we could not be more excited.
If you are a fan of Hallmark Christmas, you know that these two stars brought forth the very best for the 2023 season.
Chabert had not one but two Christmas movies in 2023.
She starred in a sequel to Haul Out the Holly called Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up, which brought more hijinks to a suburban neighborhood devoted to decorating for Christmas.
She also starred in A Merry Scottish Christmas, which was one...

For the first time, the Hallmark Channel presented at the Television Critics Association press tour on Tuesday morning with three panels: one featuring their Hallmark Mystery (the channel formerly known as Hallmark Movies & Mysteries) talent, one highlighting their “Loveuary” film, “Sense and Sensibility;” and the final with the cast of “The Way Home.”
The network has had a presence at the press tour with cocktail parties or receptions for more than a decade, but now was the time to take that a step further, says Lisa Hamilton Daly, Hallmark Media’s EVP of programming.
“I think we felt the range of programming that we had to offer this year was so unique and so varied. I am very respectful of Hallmark’s history, the brand and what they did, but I think they had a very clear function for the movies. A lot were like, everybody has that same...

Television fans of a certain age should be giving the Hallmark Channel a special thanks as they are reuniting two of the stars of one of the most popular family dramas of the late-1990s, “Party of Five,” it just so happens that both said stars happen to be regulars in the Hallmark movie rotation. In “A Merry Scottish Christmas” — as they did on “Party of Five” — Scott Wolf and Lacey Chabert play brother and sister, but unlike as the Bailey and Claudia Salinger, these siblings do not have the best of relationships. However, when they travel to Scotland to visit their mother for Christmas, a major secret is revealed that just might repair their fractured relationship. The movie premieres on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. Et. You can watch A Merry Scottish Christmas and Hallmark Channel with a 7-Day Free Trial of Philo. You can also watch with Directv Stream,...

Hallmark mainstay Lacey Chabert reunites with her Party of Five co-star Scott Wolf Nov. 18 in the channel’s A Very Scottish Christmas, a confection about a pair of once close siblings who reunite at their mom’s girlhood home in Scotland for the holiday.
Here, Chabert talks about working again with Wolf — who played her older brother Bailey in the Fox drama that ran from 1994 to 2000 — in her 38th (!!!) Hallmark movie, as well as what it meant to reunite with Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried in those excellent Walmart holiday commercials.
Deadline Hallmark really got ahead of things in anticipation of the strike. When did you shoot A Very Merry Christmas?
Lacey Chabert I shot Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up in April [for Hallmark] and then filmed A Merry Scottish Christmas in June.
How much time does it take to complete one of these movies?
Chabert Every single Hallmark movie I’ve done,...

It’s not just about those repeats of A Christmas Story on TNT anymore.
Multiple linear channels and streamers are getting into the holiday spirit this month and next by dropping original Christmas movies, as well as old favorites and one-off holiday specials. As usual, Hallmark has wall-to-wall flicks planned until the end of the month, but Great American Family, Lifetime and BET have their own original slates as well to help ring in the new year.
And if the classics are all that you are looking for, there are still airings of It’s a Wonderful Life, Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Home Alone, The Santa Cause, The Wizard of Oz and Miracle on 34th Street scheduled for the boomers and Gen Xers.
And yes, on the big days, several channels have do have marathon programming events.
Check it all out below.

Tyler Hynes stars in ‘Never Been Chris’d’
Love triangles aren’t always popular with Hallmark audiences (see When Calls the Heart). But they might make an exception for one involving fan-favorite actor Tyler Hynes. In Never Been Chris’d, Hynes plays Chris Silver, the shared high school crush of best friends and business partners Naomi (Janel Parrish) and...

It's time to start getting in the Christmas spirit - at least, according to the Hallmark Channel, which released its full slate of holiday movies on Sept. 19. This year's crop of films features a number of new faces and fresh plots to immerse you in the scent of pine trees and the sound of Christmas carols, as well as some relatively familiar faces, such as John Travolta's sister Ellen, who stars in "Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up."
Hallmark will begin airing its holiday movies on Oct. 20, starting with "Checkin' It Twice," a romance that follows a real estate agent who falls in love with a hockey player. The 40 films will air on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8 p.m. Et, with additional features also airing every Thursday on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel, with a few exceptions. Hallmark first began airing its Countdown to Christmas movies in...

Hallmark has revealed that it will have 40 all-new, original movies for both its flagship channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, as well as special content for Hallmark Movies Now, the company’s subscription streaming service.
Even though the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes impacted TV and film productions, Hallmark anticipated the labor dispute by getting a head start on production in Canada. “Christmas is a year-round business at Hallmark, so we were able to mitigate early in the year understanding that the strikes were unfortunately imminent,” Lisa Hamilton Daly, EVP of programming at Hallmark Media, was recently quoted as saying. “We’re grateful to meet all our goals for a full, all-new holiday slate and to bring our viewers the content they love most to celebrate the season.”

The fall TV schedule may be lacking a bit of new content, but the holiday season will be filled with new TV movies. Hallmark Channel, Lifetime, Great American Family and more were able to fully complete their slate of holiday movies before the WGA and SAG strikes, Variety confirms.
The Writers Guild of America strike began on May 2, impacting both TV and film productions, while SAG-AFTRA has been on strike since July 14. However, some of the holiday films set for the 2023 season began production in January.
