Goodbye CA: authentic stories

This is a very well put together documentary that shows you why so many people are turning their back to the so called golden state. Highly recommended!

One thing is to read articles, watch the news, look at the numbers... but listening to (terrible) first hand experiences like the guy who owned a laundromat... that is sobering.

Great opening: California residents declaring their love for the land and their disdain for the political situation.

Tight editing as we follow the host during his journey: he's trying to understand how is it possible that such a rich state is plagued by so many problems. Well, we don't need a spoiler alert: those issues seem created on purpose to make money off it...

personal, emotional stories are weaved smoothly with exposition via interviews with a large number of experts.

Would have loved to have some "ultra wealthy" folks (those guys living behind gated communities) commenting on the situation, but I guess they don't care.

We left SoCal in 2003, after living there for 17 years, due to the pc politics, out of control spending and over burdensome regulations. We loved living in San Diego and I would not rule out moving back one day; however, not until they get their politics sorted out, especially after seeing the draconian measures they took during COVID.

This documentary reveals how crime has taken a drastic turn for the worse and will not get better until they restore law and order by getting rid of the progressive policies that create an environment for crime to thrive.

I worked downtown. It was always clean and felt very safe for a big city. I've not visited in 4 years so I'm not sure how San Diego has changed. Keeping in touch with friends who live there, I've heard of the increasing crime and expenses they contend with. SD had always been the most conservative large city in SoCal compared to LA and SF and I attribute that to it being governed better than the others. To see this beautiful state fall so far, so fast is extremely sad. I'm hopeful that the citizens will get fed up and start voting in leaders who will enforce the laws and be fiscally responsible. This documentary does a good job of exposing some of the root causes and the plight of middle income citizens trying to survive the far left, progressive policies that are failing.
