This is a very well put together documentary that shows you why so many people are turning their back to the so called golden state. Highly recommended!
One thing is to read articles, watch the news, look at the numbers... but listening to (terrible) first hand experiences like the guy who owned a laundromat... that is sobering.
Great opening: California residents declaring their love for the land and their disdain for the political situation.
Tight editing as we follow the host during his journey: he's trying to understand how is it possible that such a rich state is plagued by so many problems. Well, we don't need a spoiler alert: those issues seem created on purpose to make money off it...
personal, emotional stories are weaved smoothly with exposition via interviews with a large number of experts.
Would have loved to have some "ultra wealthy" folks (those guys living behind gated communities) commenting on the situation, but I guess they don't care.
