Spectacular to finally see the Ammonite story!
johnnybravoctk14 June 2023
We often want to know about the largest dinosaurs but really the dinosaurs we find the most often in rocks around the world are ammonites! Little shell creatures that that were predatory mollusks that resembled squids and were in the seas for a whopping 400 million years! They are most closely related to the octopus and the shell resembled a nautilus. Like most of the dinosaurs the ammonites went exctinct 66 million years ago with the Chixulub meteor crash at the end of the Cretaceous. This is the first time I've ever personally seen them talked about in a Dino Doc, so it was quite thrilling. And the CG art so delicate and awesome. We also get the most thorough in depth look of the 50 foot sea Mosasaur that we've received in any dino documentary to this point!
