A modern "In Cold Blood"
evening118 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Excellent summary of the shocking quadruple-murder case of November 2022 -- "four students dead in 16 minutes."

It's the ultimate boogey-man case, in which a monster materializes from the shadows. How chilling that all that remains are trails of blood on an outside wall of that forever-haunted house in Moscow, ID.

Two of the victims didn't live there -- one of the beautiful blondes had moved out and was only visiting for the night, while the girl-and-guy pair had been at a frat house till 1ish AM. If only they'd stayed!

How creepy that a surviving housemate had opened her door three times in the wee hours -- once when she thought she heard an upstairs roommate playing with her dog, another time when someone said, "It's OK, I'm here to help you," and lastly when a masked man with bushy eyebrows walked right by her and out some sliding glass doors.

The suspect in the case is at a Moscow county jail, awaiting a June hearing. This program shows a clip of him accepting his diploma at graduation from DeSales University in Pennsylvania. From what I could see, his face was expressionless.

One big question remains in this case: Why?

Skip this doc
akaalmodova3 March 2024
I'm so tired of these old styled, news anchor type of documentaries that are full of fluff, disorganized information, and a lack of detail.

The interview style is annoying. I can hardly tolerate it. I just wanted more info on the case in one easy to find place. You'll get a better idea of this crazy case looking it up on TikTok.

They make it seem open and shut and don't cover any of the convoluted details that make this case such an interesting one to follow.

The spent way too long showing you how these are just your typical beautiful blonde college girls who liked dancing on TikTok.

Very little information on the layout of the house as well.

Oh and can I just mention again how annoying hearing the news anchors narrate this doc? As much as it pains me to say, maybe go get some tips from Netflix on what makes a good, modern day documentary.

Not a single new theory
jay81918 April 2024
Although this documentary claims to "explore new theories," it doesn't at all. If you've followed this case at even a very high level, you certainly won't learn any new information, theories or insights. It's a basic high-level introduction to the case, and a subpar one at that. Lots of clips of their tik tok videos and references to "lighting up a room" and how the victims' "lives were cut short."

The "experts" are randoms who have no connection to the case at all, and a couple of very awkward local reporters. Some of the people being interviewed are really over the top and very tabloid ish and overly dramatic in nature, which is off-putting and eyeroll-inducing. Most of the commentary is just questions ("WHY did he do it?") and no answers.

Bottom line: it's not really worth the time unless you like sensationalized reporting styles.

Open and Closed.

Warning: Spoilers
Approaching this without any really knowledge or understanding of the Idaho murder case, the summary of evidence, timelines and information makes this seem like a pretty easy open and closed, slam dunk case. A book-smart wannabe, subject of major murders, displays his lack of street smarts in committing a horrific crime.

Motive and court case to hopefully be determined in the coming months, but it seems pretty easy to assume the outcome.

I'll now try meet the required 500 character requirement for this review as I really don't have much else to say. Ummmm, I'm pretty sure he did it. So, yeah...
