Not at all surprising but well done just the same

I'm not sure how you do any meaningful review of these episodes without them being spoilers. I'm marking this as a spoiler but I'm not really revealing any detail.

The only question was would Clare recant or would she not. I didn't really care for was how over-the-top this episode was in having Jack place himself in situations that would compromise his integrity Surprisingly, that wasn't coupled with speculation and rumor from students and others.

I was most disappointed with Jack's fiancée but it was the exact Texas reaction that I would have expected to be portrayed. It think it was necessary to complete the tone of the story. Absolutely everything had to be falling apart for Jack and that wasn't happening in the hour story without his fiancée's response.

Teacher of the year vs traumatised teen
MiloSuperSpesh7 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
If jack is guilty of anything it's being too supportive and caring of his students, which clara takes full advantage of, a girl in a terrible situation and is too busy thinking of what people will think about her and her situation than anything realistic, and her actions have wide spread consquences.

Once again as the story unfolds it manages to avoid the key reason for the trial and you might be thinking what the hell happened ? Just like in brenda's story the end result is kind of a let down, but imho it's a bit far fetched that a young girl would decide to cry assault after he's helped her out and then with litterally no evidence or prior behaviour to prove his guilt, is put on trial ?

This seems to be common fault with these stories is the lack of due diligence on the defense, ( purely for run time and it would dilute the drama of are they guilty or not).

Jack did everything he could to protect and help clara but as media likes to show teens been overdramatic and shocklingly naive he pays a price for it. This story is similar to 'dad of the year' but at half the run time and with out the star power of robin williams ( god rest his soul), so if you liked that movie you will probs enjoy this or as much as you can enjoy these kind of stories.

The conclusion makes sense but is still bittersweet.

Usuall high standard of production and casting.

I Knew What She Would Do
Mehki_Girl12 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I see the other commenter didn't think she'd turn on him. We all have different perspectives, depending on where we exist in society.

As a POC, I was shaking my head the entire time. I wanted to scream, RUN! I was reminded of a joke on a TV sitcom. The main characters were black males. They are standing at an elevator, the doors open, and the cutest little white girl was standing there with no adult in sight.

They both shook their heads and were, oh hell no! They let those doors close and got the hell out of dodge.

Anyone (in America) claiming they didn't get the "joke" is lying.

Emmet Till (and so many other cases in history), anyone?

So that was my reaction when he offered to help her - hell, no, get the hell out of dodge!

The poor guy she blamed the pregnancy on dodged that bullet. She was trying to have sex with him so she could blame him (not realizing a DNA test would exonerate him - she's desperate, scheming, and conniving - not a genius).

The other issue of course is the pressure on children who believe it's their job to protect the adults around them, to the point of not telling their parents they are being molested. Unfortunately, even if they tell, their parents are in denial (even when the mothers know).

Sad all around. I think the program addresses many facets in this case. The portrayals are superficial in the stories, but they touch on very deep subjects and if you have a lot experience in life and don't blink, you'll pick up on them or at least see things others may miss because of the position you occupy in this society.

The entire abortion issue is not emotional to me in light of the political sledgehammer it's become (by politicians whose mistresses will always have access), rather than it being the private medical issue it should be.

Overall, well done!
