A dramatic conclusion to this very good series.

The small village of Rothbury is put on high alert, as an angry Raoul Moat is prepared to kill innocent people, following some sensational articles that appeared in the press.

Moat at this point was branded as Britain's most wanted, it was a huge story, it was all over the news, and I'm sure many of us remember well how it came to an end.

It's been a very watchable three part series, it's been so consistent from beginning to end, this third episode was very good, and it deals with the inevitable demise of Raoul Moat. It still surprises me now that Gazza tried to help.

Once again it's a well produced episode, original news footage is well mixed in. It does highlight that certain journalists have zero empathy, zero consideration and zero care.

Very well acted once again, Mark Stokoe was terrific as Moat, Sonya Cassidy and Lee Ingleby were so good.

Once again I couldn't stop looking at Sim's hair.

8/10.

Episode 3

Neil Adamson (Lee Ingleby) is leading the manhunt for Raoul Moat. His superiors tell him that his life and that of his family might be at risk from Moat.

The police know that Moat has had help from a few friends. He has support from some deluded members of the public who regard him as a folk hero.

While Moat is surviving in the countryside. An ex girlfriend tells the police that he is a survivalist who knows the local countryside well.

The final episode has a trained negotiator trying to talk to Moat. To no avail.

The program takes on the media frenzy that led to some members of the public getting the wrong idea about Moat.

However it shied away from the failings of the police and the press. I noted the local press were regarded as heroic. The local police did not agree with the findings of the enquiry, even though it largely exonerated them.

I got the feeling ITV Drama pulled some punches because of the cooperation they received.

Delusional

This was a good short series. I really hope Chris Brown's family are okay although I doubt that hashing this nightmare up again will make them feel good.

The people who supported Moat are a bunch of delusional morons. I guess it's no different than women wanting to marry inmates. Very strange indeed.

I still dont understand the two men who supposedly helped Moat. I guess they were not that important and should not get any attention.

Love how institutions get to investigate themselves (reminds me of the corrupt pharmaceutical companies). Hopefully they have improved their procedures as it is now 2023. If socially media can spread "news" /important relevant information in a matter of seconds surely the police can find a way to do it....
