A solid start to the final series.

Mike is worried by the accounts, and with the pair solely relying on the insurance money, things are tight. Alison is more concerned with getting her own back on the ghosts, who give her an April fool to remember.

It's a cute episode, I don't think this one was particularly full of laughs, but nice and charming nonetheless. I wish the Alison Vs Pat scenario had played out a little more, that would have been a real laugh.

I'd put off beginning this series for as long as I possibly could, I hate that it's coming to an end, I've loved it, and thought, let's wait til a week off.

The twist at the end, that seemed inevitable, and could open up a whole new chapter for all concerned.

Let's hope they have a rethink, and bring it back at some point.

7/10.

A funny episode

So great to have Ghosts back, but also sad knowing that this is the final season!

This episode is set on April fools day and sees Alison trying to play a trick on each of the ghosts. Cue lots of ingenious pranks that target each of the ghosts' weak spots. Part of the fun is trying to guess which ghosts will be the easiest to fool, and how.

You get the sense that this must have been a really fun episode to write and perform. Each ghost gets a hilarious scene when faced with Alison's pranks, although I think Pat's reactions are the highlight of the episode. Humphrey also plays a larger role than usual, which is nice for a change.

There's also a side plot involving Mike dealing with the insurance claim after what happened at the end of season 4, and as usual the show finds a humorous way to make the two plots come together at the end.

Not quite a top tier episode for me, but season 5 is off to a good start.

Warning: Spoilers
So sad that this great show is wrapping up, but I guess 5 seasons is longer than we get from most.

They did a good job teasing a storyline of possibly Allison not being able to see ghosts anymore, only for it to be an April Fools prank. They then played that off well as the main storyline. It was done with heart, it was done with comedy, it is the kind of plot a lot of shows would not be able to pull off, but this one is written just so well that it was a standout episode.

Once again the show makes us laugh and feel and it is sad knowing there are only a couple of episodes left in the journey.
