Christmas joy.
Sleepin_Dragon28 September 2023
Jay is convinced to try and make things up with Bela, but Eric has left for The Train Station, Thor gets a bit of help to remain in possession of Samantha, and the big guy starts to learn a bit more about The Christmas spirit.

Just lovely, hard not to adore this episode, yes it's syrupy beyond belief, but utterly lovable, this two part story will be going on this Christmas Day, a shame it was put out over here in August.

They could have called it Thor's Christmas, as it was largely about him, and him going from hating Christmas, to understanding the true meaning of it.

I quite liked the idea of Eric becoming a ghost, he'd have been fun, and he's really cute, almost a shame he was about to up and leave.

Worth watching for that closing moment alone, that was just hilarious, talk about unexpected.

Rose McIver was great, she clearly had a bit of fun making this one.

9/10.

The Christmas Spirit Part Two

Warning: Spoilers
I feel like this could have been a little bit more Christmas-y-er, but I am still happy with sitcoms embracing the trend of holiday episodes, something that seemed to be dying as of a few years ago, but has hopefully turned the corner.

The idea of a man willingly succumbing to possession and nearly dying from it is odd, but as they kept pointing out, that was certainly a strange individual.

This was fairly amusing though and better than the first half hour for sure. Good to end 2022 on a high note for Ghosts, but I do hope they strengthen the writing a little bit or a lot of bit, in the rest of Season 2.

Tough Show to Write
funlightclub21 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ghosts is tough to write for. It's got lots of requirements. For instance, Seinfeld was a show about nothing with only four characters and no restraints. Easy. But this has so many relevant backstories and scene specifications. Tough.

Ghosts came out of the gate strong because it was so fresh and they didn't use all the ghosts in each episode. Now they do, and the episodes get diluted. And as viewers, we don't know what expectations to bring. It seems like something is trying to unfold but we're not quite sure what it is.

Ending this episode with Trevor and Hetty kissing conjured up the words "jumped the shark." We might need to lower our expectations and just be glad they're trying.
