The acting was actually really good, especially for the FF genre. And a semi practical protagonist with a healthy dose of fear and self preservation. So that was the pro. Was decently creepy. Cons include not very scary cave gorilla monster and random banging noises,and the requisite dark/wiggly camera work. True-to-genre flat ending though......

And I wanted to support their effort. That said, you could spend your time on better horror films. Interesting idea, not very good acting, story, effects, and the shooting location does not look like it matches with the story location. Hats off for trying to make an entertaining film.

The main actor Eric Garcia is very good, And doesn't bore you with his endless monologues. The Video and sound are also very good.
Mauro Bosque goes off trail during the filming off his survival show to find caves that he heard stories of. The trip was hazardous due to the many chaotic situations that he creates for himself. He soon finds himself trapped in his tent, While his gear and food are stolen. And yet remains determined to see the caves that his grandmother told him about.

Once inside the cave he is surrounded by what is supposed to be bigfoot creatures, But honestly they looked more like apes to me. He runs, and finds himself alone in the dark where they torment him and finally kill him.

The movie was very good up to the point that he was being hunted by the creatures, At that point it became very reminiscent of the blair witch style movies, Where you can't see anything, And the camera work is absolutely horrible. And then the classic scream as something you can't see drags him into the dark. This was a very pathetic ending to what started as a nice movie.
It's worth a one time watch if your bored. But i would not pay for it.

Hi. I'm a frequent watcher of Found Footage/Mockumentary films and enjoy the genre.
Let's be honest, many folks go with found footage to fill in for what you're missing - actors, script, location. It's to have a built in 'out'.
I was pleasantly surprised with this film. The lead actor mainly carries it. He's very charismatic, and a welcome change from running around the woods shouting someone's name. He's not going for an Oscar here, but he's got some acting chops. When everything starts to go wrong, you feel for him. This is something that's often missing in Found Footage films.
The script, while nothing special, keeps it simple and that's a smart move. There's an edge to it that I also quite enjoyed. The scares are short, sharp and brutal.
In short, if you're a FF fan, or if you want to pass the time for 90 minutes this is worth a watch.

I have watched a lot of these type of movies, mostly documentaries and this has been the best by far
I think the "Animal" that was being depicted as Big Foot- others documentaries say Big Foot is known to throw rocks, break down trees and has a very foul odor. I respect Mauro Ripke for showing his fear and emotions.

THE WOODSMAN is about an internet reality show called "The Woodsman". While filming an episode of "The Woodsman", the host, survivalist / adventurer, Mauro Bosque (Maurice Ripke, aka: "The Woodsman") goes missing.
Yet another "found footage" film, we are allegedly watching a video that's been "discovered", showing the fate of "The Woodsman". Filmed in Texas, some wooded lot fills in for the wilds of Belize.
The first thing we learn is how much pride Bosque takes in being "The Woodsman". We also witness how much contempt he has for the production crew of "The Woodsman". He's also quite interested in the Mayans, who were too busy being extinct to appear in "The Woodsman".
Doing as "The Woodsman" might do, Bosque takes a different route than that which had been agreed upon with his team, to meet up at the rendezvous point. Needless to say, nothing goes according to plan, and unlike the living embodiment of machismo known as "The Woodsman", Bosque grows increasingly afraid.
Upon setting up camp, he hears noises, believing that someone is playing a prank on "The Woodsman". As the creepiness mounts, we finally find out what happened to "The Woodsman".
The saving grace of this movie is Ripke himself, who manages to seem genuine in his role.
MAIN COMPLAINTS: #1- The length of the film! This could have easily been trimmed by 20 minutes without losing anything important! #2- The monster! We only glimpse it for scant seconds, and even then we see its inherent cheapness! It would have been best left to the imagination! #3- The Finale! It just sort of ends!
Fans of this vastly overplayed sub-genre may enjoy this movie, while others will be fighting the sandman...
