The Conners is a show that when it is clicking can actually be a really good throwback to 80's and 90's sitcoms when they ruled television, but too often resorts to really cheap and expected humor.
We got plenty of the latter here, but also some of the former. Fighting over graduation plans, giving the older characters a fake graduation at the Lunch Box, those things worked.
I wish we actually got one last appearance by David, but maybe that'll help next season. This was a good way to add an extra element to Mark's graduation and the final episode of the season though. It is always smart to pay tribute to the host series.
