I find myself hooked.

The inquest into Tom's death begins, and Phil uses her connections to influence the outcome, but PC Karim has taken note of one or two discrepancies at the crime scene.

I was honestly expecting some sort of light hearted drama, one where a group of old friends, get drunk, tell stories, and lovingly help an old friend, boy was I wrong.

Ken and Phil are now essentially guilty of murder under UK law, and it's going to be fascinating to see how the pair continue, how they manage to deal with their act, and what fate awaits them.

Superbly acted and thought provoking, this is exactly what good drama is all about.

Lindsay Duncan continues to shine through as Phil, she really is tremendous in the part, she's so good. I am fascinated by the way in which Phil is using her former career to manipulate things.

8/10.

Episode 2

Well Truelove does have an agenda. A sympathetic look at ageing, disability and euthanasia. Maybe inspire a debate on changes to the law of assisted dying.

After the second episode I think Truelove is not the vehicle for that debate.

After killing their old ill friend Tom. It turns out that Phil and Ken have not been too good at covering their tracks. Phil has been retired from the police force for 15 years and that is just a bit too long.

Ken left his glasses behind, so they need to return to Tom's house to retreat them.

Although an inquest on Tom did not find any suspicion of foul play. A young police woman has her suspicions.

Meanwhile Phil's husband also has suspicions about Phil's fidelity to him.

I'm just finding this all genteel, plodding and dull. That police woman has a lot of spare time to go around looking for the ownership of an abandoned dinghy.
