I gave the show 3 episodes to find it's feet and frankly that is generous considering the quality which, I'm not gonna lie, had me worried from Episode 1. Modern remakes have a real chance to work (I loved Dracula for example) but this show just seem to fail again and again at what is essentially one of the simplest stories in fiction (or fiction based loosely on real life events but you catch my drift). Maybe try again in 10 years with some talented authors and some less insufferable actors (or actors portraying the characters less insufferably). I don't usually write reviews but there seems to be startling disconnect between what the audience wants and what the showrunners wanted to make here.
