Weird, but enjoyable.
Sleepin_Dragon19 April 2023
Wicky attends a stately home, where a homeless person had died, however he isn't the only one attending to the deceased, A Shaman is also in attendance, to deal with all matters spiritual.

I have a feeling this is going to be a grower, I was mixed when I first saw it, so I waited a week, re-watched it, and on the second viewing really enjoyed it.

Some awkwardly funny moments, Alex Lawther was entertaining I think it's fair to say as The Shaman, the best moment perhaps being where Wicky learns exactly what's been going on.

Once again we see the gruff side of Wicky's character, but also a willingness to listen, understand and empathise, he's seeming less cynical than he used to be.

Entertaining, definitely a bit weird, this one's a grower, 8/10.

The Shaman
Prismark1014 April 2023
Wicky's latest cleaning trip takes him to the Mountree stately home where a homeless person died.

The first problem for Wicky, his van hits an owl. An encounter that gives him a sense of foreboding as he lays eyes on what he calls the creepy mansion.

Inside he meets Dan the shaman charged with escorting the lost soul to a peaceful plain. Both men regard each other's presence an irritant.

The shaman has a job to do and Wicky's cynical presence is a hindrance. While the shaman is slowing down Wicky's cleaning job.

Only to find out that Wicky had a connection with the dead homeless man, someone Wicky used to mercilessly tease at school.

Also the shaman seems to know a little bit more about Wicky.

Almost a spooky episode where for a moment, Wicky loses his cynical side.

I have to say I did not think much of that Shakin Stevens tribute act. He drove me crazy!

I've watched it 5 times!

Warning: Spoilers
The interaction between Wicky and Dan was characterized by quick wit and affection. I always love Wicky's blunt honesty and yet he allows himself to become open to a different belief system - briefly. Even though he saw through some aspects of the Shaman, he was able to reconcile with his old friend and.enjoy his redemption.

After watching a few times, it cracked me up to see Dan almost losing it with Wicky's nonstop quips during his reiki session. I feel Alex Lawther played his role beautifully as a patient healer with a nonbeliever. Wicky was able to take the good and noble aspects of what he learned about himself, and not throw it away after seeing through the shaman's techniques.
