One of my favorite episodes

Warning: Spoilers
Yes it doesn't add a whole lot to the plot, but it does reveal a shocking secret from Zane's life. It's revealed in this episode that he was a robot and that his father died a few years back. This helps complete his character and he says he feels better for knowing and it's great character development.

It also helped explain why garmadon is the way he is right now, with a sad backstory.

It's episodes like these which make the series more complete and this episode is more of a characterization episode hence why it doesn't advance the plot that much more. Regardless it's one of my all time favorites.

Well rounded, but could have included more

Mild spoilers for the previous episode

In the seventh episode of Masters of Spinjitsu, there were a lot of revelations, especially for Zayn. The Serpentine struggle to find where the ancient fang blades to unleash the Great Devourer. Sensei reveals some of his past. One of the Ninjas reaches his full potential.

This episode really made me tear up once or twice with Zayn's story. There was a lot revealed and it was a bit of a shock, especially for me who had no idea the reveal was coming. It was done well, and it was touching; I think that, especially for a children's television show, it was handled really well and really emotionally. I don't think that the director could have done it any better, other than make it more hard hitting, which, of course, isn't suited to the tone of Masters of Spinjitsu.

However, I feel like this episode could have done a bit more. It was mostly about Zayn, and his background, more than anything else. With the underlying plot of the Serpentine coming about and uniting, there could have been more on this, rather than just two scenes of them going about their work. I'm left with a lot of questions, that I'm hoping will be answered in the eighth episode.

More could have been done, but this was a well rounded episode, but there should have been more on Pythor and the Serpentine.
