A Gentleman
Starring Siddharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez
Directed by Raj-dk
It’s not easy to make a smart sassy film with two airheaded non-actors in the lead. Co-directors Raj and Dk known to perform miracles with stars (remember Tusshar Kapoor in Shor In The City?) does the near-impossible.
A Gentlemen is a suave sexy pyramid of posh locations and peachy leads who know how to hold their sushi and Guccis in place without looking like wannabes. The film is a clever reworking of the doppelganger formula where the co-directors have cheekily manipulated the timeline in the narrative to make us think there are two Sidharth Malhotras in the plot.
Malhotra socks his punches and sucks on those over-painted lips like a fleamarket version of Tom Cruise. He even does a gay act in a bar with a government official (Chittranjan Tripathy, excellent) to get confidential information. But like many of...

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is on a high. If Kick brought him into mainstream cinema last year, 2015 has seen a fantabulous performance from him in Badlapur. While he would be reuniting with Salman Khan in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, pretty soon he would also begin shooting with Shahrukh Khan for Fan. Meanwhile with director duo of Raj and D.K., he is committed to get going on Farzi, where he has Shahid Kapoor as his co-star.

Radhika Apte may be tagged as the next 'bold queen' of Bollywood, considering her roles in films like Badlapur and Hunterrr. However, she hardly cares for what people deem about her. She gives a damn to their perception.
She says, "I don't give it so much importance. I genuinely don't. It's just people's perception what can I do after a point. I am not going to do much to change their perception or I want to do is not get typecast. I just want to do my own work."
Radhika, who played saree-clad quintessential characters in the films like Shor In The City and Rakhta Charitra, says that people change their perception accordingly.
"When I did Shor In The City, people thought I can do only saree-clad roles on-screen. And I cannot look anything else but a sari-clad lower middle class family woman and now the same people are giving...

While the shoot schedule of the Indo-Brit film Bombairiya has undergone a lot of changes, the makers of the film also had to bear other changes which included replacement of the female lead. Richa Chadda, who left the film, few weeks ago, owing to other commitments, is now replaced by Radhika Apte. After Richa Chadda called it quits, there was a rift between her and the makers, which further led to speculations and even blame games, resulting in the actress releasing a statement claiming that she had other film commitments. On the other hand, Badlapur proved to be a lucky charm for Radhika Apte who made a mark in Bollywood with Balaji's Shor In The City. Right after the release of the Varun Dhawan - Nawazuddin starrer Badlapur, Radhika Apte stated that the film has not only given her rave reviews but also visibility due to which she could add...

She was kicked, punched, beaten up, knifed, and then the cycle repeated itself twice over in Action Jackson. Still, she survived, and how. Now in her next release Badlapur, she is finding herself amidst quite a few ugly encounters. While in the Ajay Devgn starrer she was presented as one of the three leading ladies opposite Ajay Devgn, when it comes to the Varun Dhawan flick she doesn't mind her presence to be seen as a special appearance. "There are number of female protagonists in the film, like Huma Qureshi, Divya Dutta and Radhika Apte (Shor In The City, I Am). It is more like an ensemble affair, though Yami Gautam has a very important part to play. Still, it isn't a quintessential heroine role per se," informs our source. In fact, the promo of the film has highlighted the tussle between Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, though the lip-lock...

The duo that brought Shor In The City and Go Goa Gone have shifted gear with their latest offering of Happy Ending, starring Saif Ali Khan, Ileana D’Cruz, Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey. But don’t worry, Raj and Dk have their message clear. You can’t make a difficult film for the aam janta (common people). How that would amount to an amalgamation Richard Curtis filmography is a different question altogether. Yet its not all bad.
Yes we see Saif Ali Khan for the umpteenth time as a playboy charmer man-child Yudi Jaitley, profession this time a writer. And yes, we have some very beautiful women including leading ladies Ileana D’Cruz and Kalki Koechlin falling for him. There’s also the easy drunk-married-yet-regretting-it friend Monty played by Ranvir Shorey. Lets add Priety Zinta in a special appearance and Not a song, and our beloved Govinda to add some more flavour.

In a one-of-its-kind role, Saif Ali Khan will be seen doing a very interesting cameo in his own film Happy Ending. The actor is also playing the lead in the film.
The quirky director duo (Go Goa Gone, Shor In The City) have always done something unusual and unique in their films. They are also known to put interesting cast together for their films and Happy Ending also seem to an entertaining ensemble cast. In their last film, Go Goa Gone they presented Saif Ali Khan in a hilarious avatar as a fake Russian gangster and this time they created a cameo for Saif again as a wannabe rockstar/bum – Yogi.
“Saif excels in roles where he has to play characters. He is one of those rare actors who has no inhibitions or hang ups and plays any role with full gusto,” exclaim the directors, Raj & Dk.
About the character
Yogi (Saif) is a mystery.

This week’s Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa featured the contestants dancing on remixed music that was created especially by Music Directors Sachin-Jigar. Saturday’s show opened with the contestants dancing on the song ‘Dil Garden Garden’ from Kya Super Kool Hai Hum. Music Directors Sachin-Jigar, were warmly welcomed on the show.
Hosts Ranvir and Manish then realised that all the female contestants were not seated in the contestant area. The audience was then shown, that backstage, all the ladies were following Palak’s brother, Kiku Sharda! Kiku had come to replace Palak on the show and he had impressed all the ladies already! Naturally, hosts Ranvir and Manish were disappointed with this development!
It was then time to get back to business, and see who would be in this week’s face-off. The face-off was determined by last week’s votes (there was no elimination last week) and scores.

Based on a true story, Disney’s “Million Dollar Arm” follows Jb Bernstein, a once-successful sports agent who now finds himself edged out by bigger, slicker competitors. Late one night, while watching cricket being played in India on TV, Jb comes up with an idea so radical it just might work. Why not go to there and find the next baseball pitching sensation? Setting off for Mumbai with nothing but a gifted but cantankerous scout (Alan Arkin) in tow, Jb stages a televised, nationwide...

Not taking into account the expression-less “actors” who have infested Hindi films from time immemorial, zombies are a relatively new phenomenon in Hindi cinema. We did have a zombie film some weeks ago which, like most characters in films of that genre, died a swift death. Forget that.
Go Goa Gone is a savagely funny take on the mythic cult of zombies. Since we are new to the genre there are sly footnotes about them. Characters in the course of their casual and quite corny conversations tell us plenty about Zombie folklore. That zombies enjoy eating human flesh, that they cannot run fast and most of all , zombies are actually dead people.
Working backwards on the premise of heroes shooting the dead, the co-directors have fashioned a fiercely funny fable filled with loads of innocuous innuendos and rumbustious scare attacks that never quite reach the stage of stomach-churning gore-o-logy(to invent a term,...
