Trivia:
Actress Pooja Bedi was asked to shoot for the role of a film actress (playing herself). Pooja declined the role quoting "Apoorva did approach me and wanted me to play the part. But it's probably just a 10 second scene that didn't interest me". The role was finally played by 'Raki Sawant'. The makers were actually trying to add glamor to the film by showing that a film actress was shooting for a film nearby. whilst the actual fact was Pooja Bedi was actually shooting at Juhu and not Lokhandwala. A reporter 'Minty Tejpal' had come to interview her. When Minty was informed that a shootout was happening at Lokhandwala, he went straight off to the site of the shootout and abandoned the interview. moreGoofs:
Anachronisms: In the "Ganpat" song, Bombay's new name Mumbai is used, but during 1991, it was still called Bombay. Also, names of current Bollywood actresses Kareena Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat and Bipasha Basu are used who were not generally known during 1991. moreQuotes:
Dhingra: [interrogating the cops involved in the shootout] You mean all the charges against the ATS[Anti-Terrorist Squad]
Dhingra: - lockup tortures, public shootouts, encounter killings are all lies?
Javed Shaikh: The truth is not something that you read about on some piece of paper. The truth is something that you find out, on the streets of Bombay.

Watched the first screening. Must say that the film has garnered a lot of curiosity because of excellent marketing, but it fails to impress. Vivek Oberoi, of course, is excellent. This genre works for him. But overall the film is very confused with no definite screenplay. The plot is paper thin and unnecessary songs, especially, the Arti Chhabria ones, just spoil the experience. I wish the film would have been tighter with a better screenplay. Apart from Vivek Oberoi, the performances are no good. Sanjay Dutt looks very conscious in front of the camera. Wonder what Abhishek was doing in less than a minute role!! Amitabh is wasted too.
Definitely not good cinema.
