Very under-rated TV show
Telmage444810 June 2011
Most people come into a show for the good acting, extreme drama such as deadliest catch, or most other extremes. These guys give those and more, but in a different perspective. Swamp Brothers is a very educational, fun, and dramatic TV show. Some dislike this but others may find this great. Swamp Brothers teaches about animals and certain traits, what they look like, How they react, and even somewhat defense from these animals. Somewhat. The show is Under-rated because the new guy Stephen does get a bit freaked out, but he is from a city where you are more likely to get hit by a car than have a giant 1,000 Pound reptile trying to eat him. The show really needs a different perspective point than shows like deadliest catch. The show is very down to earth, and in my opinion? The best animal show. My only issue is that it is located on the Discovery channel. I would see it more suitable on Animal planet where several successful shows are, Such as river monsters. (ALSO A GREAT SHOW!) Thanks for reading

Take a bite
Bantam10 July 2013
As far as reality shows go - well - I usually try to steer clear of them. Let's be honest: most of them are pure gunk.

I got to admit though, that some of those "nature"-themed shows (Man vs. Wild being one of the more prominent ones) do have a certain appeal. Call it what you will, maybe it's the fact that this entire 'back to nature' thing just does agree with me.

This show is of course still a show (it's cut, edited and so forth)! It means it does have some sort of entertainment value, sure. But it is not about some sort of fabricated situation it's about the exploits of a gator-farm (with snakes, poisonous snakes mind you).

Many of us viewers are like Stephen - not too crazy about jumping on a crocodile, or manhandling a python - however, it is quite amusing to imagine oneself in such a situation. I would be scared sh**less! And it's probably this that makes much of this show's appeal.

Besides that it does show a walk of life you do not usually get to see, unless you live in an area where crocks the size of SUVs roam your backyard - or you work at such a farm. Personally, I find it entertaining, fun and to a certain extent educative.

And I really hope they do some more of this, I'd take another bite!

Probably the only reality show I've liked, because it's not fake

I know, the first response is - how do you know it's not fake? Because I've met them a few times. Stephen freaked out over me picking up a tiny baby corn snake.... a CORN SNAKE LOL. I laughed so hard I almost dropped the poor snake. His fear is not fake, and it is HILARIOUS because I now know that Robbie teases him on purpose (heck, I did too lol). Robbie still has the animals, and still rescues gators (I've been in the main gator pen). Overall, I wish someone would bring them back!! Of course, Stephen would have a long drive for it, but I'm good with that LOL. Once you find out that these guys are JUST like they are in the show, it makes it so much better.
