Scots indie thriller tests the patience
Leofwine_draca5 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
GRADERS is an indie thriller from Scotland. The director works hard to summon up an air of mystery and suspense although the plot is so familiar that their efforts are largely in vain. The plot is about a Polish girl who comes to Scotland in search of her missing sister only to discover that her sibling's disappearance is linked to an illegal organ donation scheme. The low budget works in this film's favour insofar as it gives it a realistic, documentary-style look, but the lack of story really hurts it. You wait an age for something - anything - to happen but even at the end it doesn't, not really.

Terrible film. Very poor story line, acting, script writing and filming. All in all a very amateurish made film. Watch if you want to waste some time.

I had to make an account for this

How did this movie show up on Prime with a 5.3? Honestly. I've been trying to give more independent and small budget horror films a chance because there really are some gems out there. I'm not going to waste much time on this review, since I've already wasted so much time on the movie. I'll admit I watched it until the end, mostly because I hoped there would be something redeeming. There isn't. It has a realistic touch because of the filming, but the plot is a dime a dozen, contradicts it's filming style by being completely unrealistic and full of holes and logic problems, the acting is terrible, and the ending? Out of what the highly normative protagonists would be capable of or likely to do. Trash.

Belongs in the bin

You may well find yourself asking questions like, 'what the firetruck', 'does anybody care', 'why bother making the effort to make such boring tripe', and so on and so forth, about a 'movie' that can be found at the bottom of every terrible, fish-stinking barrel in the world.
