Bloated true crime drama

Secrets of the Chippendales Murders was an interesting true crime drama but with so much repetition of information, it pretty much petered out under its own dead weight. This four episode series could've been done really well in two episodes by removing all the redundant filler.

Very watchable, but should have been edited down.

This four part series charts the rise of The Chippendales, from the originals, the growth, the power struggle and the infamous murder at the top.

What an interesting series, maybe not what you're expecting, you'll get mystery, intrigue, laughs, humour and of course plenty of beefcakes.

Episode three had the biggest surprises, the interview with Strawberry was something else, almost like something from a spoof.

Once again, my criticism with this format, it could have been shorter and more punchy, the first two episodes were a little fluffy, serving more so to add context, parts three and four have the content.

It's well produced, it has some interesting footage and some really enjoyable interviews.

An interesting watch, 7/10.

Could have been a decent shortish movie

Eighty minutes could have easily covered every detail in this series. Production values, video & audio quality are so low it seems like something made in a warehouse back in the 60s. There is so much redundant repetition you can easily nap through most of the episodes without missing a thing. Attempts to dramatize by several chatterbox men fail. The holes left in the story remain vacant, like what happened to what must have been several million dollars Banerjee accumulated? What happened to Irene during the many years after Steve committed suicide and before she died of cancer? What happened to their daughter?

Perhaps technically less accurate, Hulu's "Welcome to Chippendales" was at least mildly entertaining and features a cast that includes several entertaining actors, like Annaleigh Ashford, Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, and Kumail Nanjiani.
