Sex & Nudity

  • An extended scene which shows several topless men and women in the foreground and background, but not in a sexual context.
  • A doorknob morphs into a penis.
  • The image of a horse and a bull having intercourse is briefly visible.
  • A couple of off-color wisecracks, referencing bestiality and masturbation.

Violence & Gore

  • Exaggerated gory violence throughout but these images are undercut by the generally bizarre, comic tone of the film as a whole.
  • A man beheads another man (the decapitation is visible but without much blood spray) and chops the head off a fish-like creature in the opening scene.
  • An alien-like creature is stomped and crushed on the road, with noises and goo visible.
  • Photographs of mangled bodies are seen.
  • A man is punched and then his arm is ripped off (blood spurts, with the bloody stump visible.)
  • A scene where large amounts of blood and remains are visible as a character walks through a house.
  • A brief shot of a girl with a missing eye.
  • A man is shot in the chest without sight of blood or impact.
  • A man is shot in the head (blood splatters onto the wall behind him) and then shot repeatedly across his body, with these bloody wounds highly visible for an extended portion of the film. He is later shot in the chest with a shotgun (blood briefly splatters.)
  • A man's head is shot off with a shotgun, with gory results.
  • A short animated sequence which displays limbs being severed off, screams of terror and large amounts of blood spray. Eventually, it transitions into a live action shot, where blood and various severed limbs are seen scattered across the ground.
  • A man is swallowed whole by a creature (played for laughs, no blood or gore visible.)
  • Several men are hit with a spiked bat.
  • A man is set on fire.

Profanity

  • 'Dick' is said several times.
  • 'Whore' is said.
  • 'Bastard' is said.
  • 'Hell' is said.
  • 'Goddamn' is said at least three times.
  • 'Damn' is said at least twice.
  • A character is called 'Shitload' and the name is said several times.
  • 'Son of a bitch' is said once.
  • 'Fuck' is said 26 times, generally grouped together.
  • 'Shit' is said multiple times, and 'bullshit' is said at least twice.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Characters socially drink during an outdoor party.
  • A brief verbal allusion to ecstasy.
  • The entire film focuses on the highly bizarre effects of a fictional drug, but there is no demonstrated use techniques and the context is too fantastical to give viewers the slightest hint of glorification.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The violence and gory deaths throughout are frightening.
  • The monsters are frightening.
  • Some scenes in which perception is distorted are intense.
  • The film is more bizarre and blackly comic than frightening, but the sense of dread in the proceedings and the bursts of exaggerated gory violence will turn off the squeamish.
