Character driven zombie film

I saw this at a festival. Not knowing what to expect other than a zombie film with a romance film title, I was pleasantly surprised. The film shows the characters and their emotions during a zombie outbreak. You really feel for the characters. The subplots and character development make you cry with them.

I thought the dialog and use of emotion in what is normally a zombie driven genre made this film unusual. Kind of like the first season of The Walking Dead, you follow the group members, not the chaos which is secondary. You don't know whether to root for the pacifist or the zombie hunter. I would have liked to see some more zombie slaughtering, but I see the direction the director took, focusing on the individuals more than the situation and think it paid off. It was well directed and written, although some of the scenes were shot a little dark.

Overall, it is an enjoyable character driven zombie film. If you are looking for heads exploding this isn't the film, but if you are looking for well thought characters and character development, this is the film.

Cliché and Ridiculous

I personally thought this movie was terrible, the summary and the rating looked promising and judging by the story, it could've been made well, even on a low budget the "zombies" were terrible, even to the point of walking with there arms out in front of them, id understand this if it were a deliberate B-Grade Hollyweird film, but this was supposed to be serious. At points I was wondering what on Earth was going on? like when they randomly stop there car and get out and drop the keys and lose them for no apparent reason. The dialog is crummy and the characters are not realistic nor likable. I sat through 20 minutes of this film, then created an account purely to write this review to steer people away from wasting there time. If you don't believe me then watch the film for yourself.
