Well that's a surprise.

Michael has a surprise for his parents, and decides to confide in Ben, rather than Susan.

A really good episode to follow on from the awful Wheelie Ben. So Michael's coming out comes as somewhat of a surprise, particularly as there's been no hint of it from start to finish.

However, there are plenty of laughs, best scenes involving Ben and Susan, and the moment where Ben outs Scott.

There are also a few moving moments here, the show has the ability to be crass, as in the previous episode, bit of proves here it had a nice side too.

Do we ever see Scott again? Don't think we do, may be wrong.

Good fun, 8/0.

A potential 'jump the shark' episode
studioAT18 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Making youngest son Michael gay when there had been no hint of him being gay before (anything but at times) was a potential 'jump the shark' moment for this long running sitcom, especially when it was going a bit stale at the end of its long run.

However, it does make for a better than average episode, with Gabriel Thompson doing well as Michael. The reaction of Ben is also quite funny too.

It fizzles out towards the end of the episode though, with the final scene feeling rushed, and the less said about the Janey subplot the better.

I think the writers missed a trick by not moving Scott into the house as this would've given them more story potential, but on the whole this is a good episode.
